Jake Paul is currently one of the biggest names in the world of boxing, known for his rapid rise and popularity. The YouTuber turned boxer has utilised his social media fame and smart marketing to gain massive attention across the globe. Moreover, he has built his career by beating older fighters like Mike Tyson and Tyron Woodley, because of which his credibility has come under attack.
In addition, fans have often accused Jake Paul of rigging his fights, pointing to unusual moments and outcomes that raised serious questions. However, ‘The Problem Child’ has repeatedly denied all these claims, and his opponents have mostly credited him after the fight.
However, since then, things have gotten serious. And in response, Paul has brought in strong legal backing to support his growing controversies. Recently, he hired popular attorney Alex Spiro for his defence, signaling a more professional and calculated legal approach ahead. In a recent interview, the celebrity lawyer shared his opinion on the Cleveland native, praising his strategy and media influence.
I’ve been retained by Mr. Paul to pursue legal redress for the damages he has suffered. If someone uses their public soapbox to harm him and the sport with lies, there will be consequences. Jake’s reputation and value as an athlete will be protected with the full force of the law.

One major example of a rigged accusation was the Tyson bout, where fans believed both fighters held back deliberately. Similar accusations followed his bouts with Anderson Silva and Woodley, claiming pre-fight deals limited genuine competitiveness. Paul, being in boxing for years now, appears frustrated and has shown interest in fighting such ongoing accusations.
I’ve dedicated my life to boxing and I will no longer let those with a public profile harm me or the sport I love and respect, without consequences.

Spiro is a prominent American trial lawyer and partner at the elite law firm Quinn Emanuel Urquhart & Sullivan. Among his most notable clients is the CEO of X, Elon Musk. Spiro has represented Musk in several legal matters, including defamation lawsuits, SEC disputes, and controversies tied to social media activity.
His client list also includes celebrities like Jay-Z, NBA stars such as Charles Oakley, and actors like Alec Baldwin. His legal fees reportedly reach up to $3,000 per hour, making him one of the most expensive lawyers in New York. It would be interesting to see how this move helps Paul in the future.
Jake Paul vs. Anthony Joshua happening soon?
Jake Paul has often been criticised for not fighting real boxers, relying instead on older MMA stars or celebrities. To change that narrative, he has expressed a genuine interest in facing actual boxers with legitimate records and proven ring experience. Recently, he surprised fans by revealing interest in fighting former heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua, a massive leap in competition level.

Now, Paul’s business partner has confirmed that this potential fight could realistically happen in the future, depending on circumstances and timing. After the news broke out, Joshua’s promoter, Eddie Hearn, recently talked about the potential fight and gave a positive nod.
This is very real. I had a good chat for about an hour with Nakisa [last week] and now I believe they want the fight, I really do… if I had to rate that chance I would say it’s 50/50… if they really want it, it will happen.

Joshua has been inactive since suffering a brutal knockout loss to Daniel Dubois, leaving fans wondering about his next move. A comeback fight against Paul could be a strategic and financially rewarding opportunity to regain momentum and fan attention.
Heading into the potential bout, Joshua would clearly be the fan favourite due to experience, skill, and past achievements. However, many fans strongly doubt Paul will actually step into the ring, viewing it as another promotional distraction.
