After fighting several retired UFC fighters, YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul is now finally preparing to share the ring against professional boxers. Currently, Paul is scheduled to take on the WBA lightweight champion Gervonta Davis on November 14, exclusively streaming live on Netflix.
Going into the fight, both fighters recently participated in their first presser at the Palladium Theater in New York City, and it turned out to be extremely controversial.
‘The Problem Child’ is widely recognized for using trash-talking and relentless trolling to get under his opponents’ skin during press conferences. His incredible ability to market himself and generate attention has helped him build a massive fan following despite heavy criticism.
Against Davis, Paul chose to bring up personal incidents and past alleged domestic violence, saying, “Any man who puts his hands on a woman is the clown.” Davis did not let the comment slide and provided his own reasoning to defend himself against such serious allegations in their presser.
If I hit a female, wouldn’t there be mad other females? I ain’t been just with one female.

Earlier this year, in July, Davis was arrested for allegedly committing domestic violence against his ex-girlfriend during a conflict. The incident reportedly occurred when Davis went to collect his child on Father’s Day, but the situation quickly escalated. Visible injuries were reported on the victim, prompting authorities to book Davis, who was released the next day on bond.

🗣️ Tank: “Let’s be real, I’ve been with more than one female. Wouldn’t more females come out and say something about me hitting them?”… pic.twitter.com/3Cbpr9HADH
Eventually, the case was dropped when the alleged victim decided not to pursue prosecution, closing the legal action against Davis. This incident adds to Tank’s ongoing legal history, which includes a 2020 domestic violence charge and a 2023 hit-and-run conviction. Nevertheless, all this has never affected his professional career, and the fighter is currently undefeated and a pay-per-view star.
Jake Paul vs. Gervonta Davis is an unfair match
Ahead of the clash, Gervonta Davis is dismissing Jake Paul’s abilities, expressing full confidence in his own refined boxing technique. Paul, however, has pointed out multiple weaknesses in Davis’s defensive skills, emphasizing his intention to exploit them during the fight. Paul has further promised fans an unforgettable experience, claiming he will deliver a spectacular, viral knockout that viewers will remember.

Paul has often faced heavy criticism for his boxing career, particularly from UFC CEO Dana White, who openly disapproves of his antics for fighting old MMA fighters like Tyron Woodley, Anderson Silva, and Nate Diaz. Both men share a long-standing rivalry, frequently exchanging harsh words, jabs, and sarcastic remarks on social media platforms over time.
Despite the tension, in a recent interview, White offered his opinion on Paul’s upcoming fight against Gervonta Davis, surprisingly commenting. The UFC head honcho took to Logan Paul’s podcast and weighed in on the upcoming November fight.
I don’t hate your brother. You know what is funny about your brother? He’s going to fight (expletive) Gervonta Davis. You guys need to fight guys your (expletive) same size. When you fought (expletive) Floyd, you are massive. Floyd’s tiny, And he did hit you with a bomb of an overhand right one time, and you (expletive) ate it. You ate that punch. Gervonta, I think, hits way harder than Floyd, but he’s too small. I mean, your brother’s going to be able to get inside on him, put his weight on him, tie him up.

In his last bout, Paul faced former boxing veteran Julio Cesar Chavez Jr., winning decisively via unanimous decision against him. Before that, he shocked everyone by fighting Mike Tyson and defeating the legendary boxer
The Tyson fight attracted over 108 million views on Netflix, generating massive attention, and Paul reportedly earned approximately $40 million overall. It will be intriguing to observe how the upcoming fight between Jake Paul and Gervonta Davis unfolds in action.
