Pro boxing’s ‘Problem Child’ Jake Paul often gets into the middle of topsy-turvy statements. Paul often has insightful inputs of knowing his limits. The Ohio native takes up the challenge to make the most awkward matchups against the biggest of names! At times, he will challenge fighters who will never likely fight him. Now, he has another pitch for a boxer he wants to face β€” Anthony Joshua.

Paul vs.Β Mike TysonΒ headlined MVP’s Netflix-theme fight recently, and he won it rather easily against the older icon. Jake Paul was also shaping up for a big fight against super middleweight champion at 168 pounds, Canelo Alvarez. However, Alvarez signed on a Saudi GEA four-deal fight for the extended Riyadh Season. Now, it’s all eyes on Brit KO artist Anthony Joshua.

I know my boundaries, …Here’s the thing: I want to fight Anthony Joshua β€” exclusive β€” because I know that I will f*cking beat Anthony Joshua’s a**… He doesn’t have a chin, and he has no skill, and he’s stiff. And I love you, Anthony. We’re friends, all this sh*t, but I want to fight you.

The former unified heavyweight champion Joshua had the safety net of two contractual passes with Tyson Fury. But Fury squandered that chance for a “Battle of Britain” with a retirement announcement. Meanwhile, AJ himself caught one on the chin and lost to Daniel β€˜Dynamite’ Dubois.

In fact, AJ rejected the chance to rematch Dubois in February 2025. This has put AJ in a difficult situation as Dubois and Joseph Parker remain ahead of him in the pecking order to fight the current king of the heavyweight division – Oleksandr Usyk.

Anthony Joshua, 34, lost for the first time in five fights to drop to 28-4. Cruiserweight Jake Paul is not all that much skill-wise; ‘unproven boxer’ Tommy Fury ran circles around him in 2023. Paul has yet to fight someone ranked in the cruiserweight division. All his previous opponents were either old, influencers, or journeyman fighters. As such, his statement has attracted much anger online.

Fight fans react to Jake Paul’s call-up to Anthony Joshua

Paul had three fights in 2024, including knockout victories over journeyman Ryan Bourland and BKFC star Mike Perry. The 28-year-old credits his only boxing defeat to Tommy Fury in February 2023. He is willing to fight only professionals, and wants bigger names, including Anthony Joshua.

During ‘BS w/ Jake Paul’ Podcast – Ep. 64, Paul only veered to the thought that ‘best boxer’ David Benavidez was the only name he couldn’t defeat. Problem Child touts he’ll defeat any and all other names, including boxing icon Canelo Alvarez and other high-ranked sluggers. Hence, he now lands on former unified champion Anthony Joshua. Here is what fans think of that notion:

Joshua is one of the biggest names in boxing, having won Olympic gold at the 2012 Games and notched up major wins over Dillian Whyte, Wladimir Klitschko, Joseph Parker, and Andy Ruiz Jr. as a pro. Yet, he might just take up this fight offer given he has gone up against ripe boxers before.

Fans have reacted as much. Some have peculiarly supported his case while others have even lauded him for finally choosing pro boxers of proper age. One prominent reaction (@THEMACHOMANE) quipped that “AJ might be able to KO Paul with no hands.” Many such reactions have counted Paul out of a potential bout.
