Jake Paul tries MMA

Jake Paul has aspirations of pursuing a fighter’s life in the long run, and not just in boxing. Paul so far is 4-0 in his professional boxing career and it wasn’t seen as a big of a deal until Paul knocked out former world champion of MMA Ben Askren in the first round in April this year. If the excuse of Askren being primarily a grappler was enough, Paul decided to take on former UFC Welterweight champion Tyron Woodley. To the world’s surprise, Paul really did well against Woodley to secure a decision victory.

In a media scrum for his rematch with Tyron Woodley, Paul said to ESPN Correspondent Marc Raimondi, “I don’t see why if I can do boxing at that high of a level, I couldn’t do MMA at this high of a level. I’m gonna go get coached up by Javier Mendez, Team Khabib, and that’s that. They’re down. A 100%.” Javier Mendez, famous for coaching in the boxing aspect of MMA, is the head coach and founder of American Kickboxing Academy.

With his rematch against Woodley right around the corner, we wanted to show you how things went down when Jake stepped inside the octagon to have a little fun with a professional MMA fighter. Jake and his brother Logan used to wrestle during their high school, and Logan sparred with former UFC’s middleweight title contender, Paulo Costa.

Logan did fairly well against but the same can’t be said for Jake Paul, he got taken down almost immediately, and his opponent started landing a barrage of strikes, Jake barely survived the ground and pound as he made it to the next round. This time he resisted a little but he got taken down again, before finally tapping out to an arm-bar. Now, we aren’t saying Jake can’t do MMA, we just want to warn him that it might not go as wished.
