It was widely expected that Mike Tyson would come into the fight with a significant advantage in weight. He has traditionally fought at about 220 pounds, while Jake Paul has fought at 190–195 pounds. However, this time, the celebrity boxer has changed his game plan. According to Paul’s coach, Shane Mosley, he has put on a considerable amount of weight, which could have a huge impact on the outcome of the fight.

This was revealed when Roy Jones Jr. recently sat down with Mosley. Both initially discussed the recent fight between Ryan Garcia and Devin Haney. Subsequently, during the interview, Mosley mentioned the Tyson vs. Paul fight. Furthermore, he revealed that he even ran into Paul and was shocked after witnessing his weight gain.

I just saw Jake yesterday, and he was 230 pounds… He said he feels as fast as he was at 185 or 190.

Even Roy Jones Jr. was stunned by this revelation and stated it would prove advantageous for Paul. The age gap was already a factor, which had to be considered for the fight. However, if Tyson does not have the weight advantage, his chances against the young boxer decrease even more.

Mike Tyson is known for his infamous punching power, and even at the age of 58, he still packs a punch. However, if Paul weighs 230 pounds, it would mean his ability to absorb punches has also increased.

Jake Paul talks about Mike Tyson’s training videos

Tyson has been training hard, regardless of the advantages Paul may bring to the ring. This can be seen from the training videos that the former champion has been uploading on social media. As such, the Paul brothers recently spoke about this and Jake’s thoughts on it.

The 58-year-old has been going through a proper training camp for the upcoming fight. Furthermore, he is already in quite impressive shape considering his age. Hence, during an episode of the BS/w Jake Paul podcast, his brother Logan Paul asked his thoughts on the training videos. Jake admitted that he was slightly nervous after witnessing them

However, he stated that having a bit of fear is always good, as it makes you more vigilant before the fight. Furthermore, Jake Paul believes Tyson looking good while punching the mitts does not guarantee his victory. Hence, the young boxer is nervous but still quite confident about his ability to emerge victorious in the fight.
