Whether be it Deion Sanders or his son, Shedeur, the father-son duo has been quite blunt and outspoken about their preferences in the 2025 NFL Draft. The Colorado head coach raised questions on Caleb Williams joining the windy city of Chicago, saying he wouldn’t let his son play anywhere in a climate like that. 

They are even ready to pull an “Eli Manning” if any such team approaches. Upon observing the father and son’s offseason activities and attitude, former Denver Broncos star quarterback Jake Plummer decided to remind them to be a bit humble.

During the recent episode of the new “Dumb Jock” podcast, Plummer and his guest Nate Jackson went into the discussion: whether the young Colorado quarterback wants to play in the NFL for his passion or just for the sake of money, highlighting that Shedeur is the highest paid college quarterback with $4.8 million income

Does Shedeur aspire to go the league? Some people are motivated differently, you know. I don’t know if he wants to be the greatest quarterback ever, or if he wants to just make 500 to 600 million and become a billionaire. That might be what he wants, who knows? If he wants to be the greatest in the league, he’s got a long way to go.

Plummer suggested Shedeur use his money in a better way. In places where he can get the training and do the work to be the greatest player in the league.

He also argued that money can be distracting if the athlete is not focused or balancing more things to get more opportunities. Just like, how the former quarterback even in his seventh year in the NFL, before eventually retiring in 2006.
