Jalen Brunson and Josh Hart advised to take ‘Paul George’ route amidst Knicks struggles
ESPN analyst Kendrick Perkins called out Knicks stars Jalen Brunson and Josh Hart for their podcast after Paul George's announcement.

Jalen Brunson and Josh Hart advised to step away from podcast after Paul George's decision
The New York Knicks are slumping at the wrong time of the year. The Knicks have lost 4 of their last 10 games, and their star players, Jalen Brunson and Josh Hart have been under the scanner for their performances. Following the Knicks’ loss to the Boston Celtics on Sunday, ESPN analyst Kendrick Perkins called out the duo for their podcast, recommending they follow Paul Georges’s lead.
Earlier on Wednesday, George announced his intentions to take a step back from his off-court duties towards his podcast, Podcast P with Paul George. This comes after shocking reports of PG13 recording more podcast clips on his YouTube channel than made field goals this season. As he leans more into the future of his team, Kendrick Perkins believes Brunson and Hart should follow the same path.
Paul George is not the only person that should be taking a break from podcasting during the basketball season. I feel like Jalen Brunson and Josh Hart as well should take a break because if you’re trying to go out there and honestly compete for an NBA championship, that should be your only goal. Anything outside of that is a distraction.

George’s announcement came in light of the 76ers struggles this season, as they are on the verge of missing out on the Play-In game as well after a big offseason. After assembling the big three of Paul George, Joel Embiid and Tyrese Maxey, the Sixers entered the year as one of the top contenders from the East. However, injuries and poor performance have derailed their season with just a 20-38 record.
The Knicks, on the other hand, have a 38-20 record, which is good for the 3rd seed in the East. A huge part of their success has been the offseason addition of Karl-Anthony Towns, alongside the backcourt of Jalen Brunson and Josh Hart. As they look to make a legitimate championship run, perhaps it would be in their best interest to pause their ‘Roommates Show’ podcast and focus on their goal.
Jalen Brunson and Josh Hart shine in 76ers takedown
With Kendrick Perkins’ comments coming on Wednesday, there couldn’t have been a better time to make a comparison between Paul George and the backcourt of Jalen Brunson and Josh Hart, with the Knicks taking on the 76ers on Wednesday night. While the Villanova standouts were asked to a page out of George’s book, they showed their focus on the court with a 110-105 victory.
Brunson led the team in scoring with an incredible 34 points to George’s 25 points. Hart, on the other hand, was the defensive menace he had been throughout the season, and while he only scored 7 points, he secured a whopping 17(!) rebounds. Those are absurd numbers for a 6’4″ guard, especially in the modern NBA, dominated by lanky and athletic wings.
On the Sixers’ end, they put up a strong effort against the team that knocked them out in the first round of the playoffs last season. However, a 30-point game by Maxey, a 27-point effort by Kelly Oubre Jr. and George’s 25 were not enough to outdo the Knicks’ depth. As the Sixers try to stay above water after the murky news surrounding the injury concerns of their superstar Joel Embiid, this season continues to be one straight out of hell.
