After the Boston Celtics ended up winning the NBA championship last season, talk about them in basketball circles has never really ceased. And this time, Jalen Brunson and his New York Knicks teammate, Josh Hart have claimed in unison, that the Celtics are a team every other franchise in the league is ‘chasing’.

Particularly, because the Celtics made history with that title win, setting an all-time record as the team with the most championships in the NBA. Jalen Brunson and Josh Hart made these claims in a recent video on The Roommates Show, which they both co-host. “Everyone’s coming for Boston”, Brunson said. And to which Hart reiterated: “I think that’s just the way it is. And at the end of the day, everyone’s chasing Boston.”

Given their statements, it seems like it’s now the new normal for teams in the league to try and poach stars from the Boston Celtics, after their recent success where Jayson Tatum helped lead them to triumph in the NBA Finals last season.

We could have like, went and signed...you know, [Luka] Jokic, [LeBron] James, KD, like we're still chasing Boston. They're the champs

According to him, there are other experienced and better players for their team and other franchises across the country to sign, but presently all attention is directed towards the reigning NBA champions. As for Brunson, he is in a great position with the Knicks as he’s just been named captain of the team on Tuesday, their first in six years. The 27-year-old shooting guard quickly rose to become one of the team’s leaders since arriving in 2022 from the Dallas Mavericks.

After a new contract, Jayson Tatum yearns to spend entire career with the Celtics

Following their NBA Finals win over the Mavericks to clinch a record 18th championship, the Boston Celtics offered star player Jayson Tatum a new, mega contract. Nonetheless, the 26-year-old has revealed his heart desire is to stay at the franchise for the remainder of his career in pro basketball.

For me just to feel wanted... I’ll spend my whole career here and have got nothing but love for the fans, the city, and the organization... We just won a championship and I want to try to win as many as I can.

The $315M five-year deal he signed, is the richest contract in NBA history and will see the 5-time All-Star stay in Boston right up to the 2029-30 season.
