As part of the offseason break, New York Knicks point guard Jalen Brunson, recently played a round of golf with teammate Josh Hart, and he was asked by a reporter to name his top three NBA golfers. He quickly named Steph Curry as his number-one golf player.
Steph Curry is a well-known golf player and fans widely recognize his golfing skills, though they might not be as prolific as his long-range shots. He has participated in numerous golf tournaments, including winning the 2023 American Century Championship.
I'm gonna say Steph, for sure. Everyone just knows Steph's the GOAT for sure. He can do no wrong.Jalen Brunson said about his top NBA golf player
Furthermore, after he named Curry, Jalen Brunson struggled to name another player, before he eventually picked LA Lakers shooting guard Austin Reaves, who finished tied for 13th at this year’s American Century Championship. However, the Knicks guard couldn’t think of a third player to complete his list.
Austin Reaves! Steph, Austin Reaves, and whoever you wanna put third.Jalen Brunson added
The reporter jokingly suggested that Brunson could take the final spot on his own list, but the Knicks star laughed off the idea. The Knicks guard would be back in action against the defending champions away at the TD Garden.
Jalen Brunson claims he was intimidated by Luka Doncic’s exceptional talent
Jalen Brunson and Luka Doncic were both drafted by the Dallas Mavericks in the second and first draft rounds respectively. In a surprising twist of events Brunson in a recent episode of The Mark Jackson Show on the Come and Talk 2 Me channel narrated his experience of being intimidated by Luka Doncic’s exceptional talent.
We’re playing pickup, and this is before our rookie season. Luka’s playing, but he’s moving at a snail’s pace. I’m like, ‘This dude is not even playing hard.’ But then he’s making pass after this, and step back and making it like this. In my head, I’m like, are you gonna pick it up?Jalen Brunson said on The Mark Jackson Show
Brunson acknowledged that Doncic’s skills, honed through his experience playing for Real Madrid in the EuroLeague, unsettled him. Furthermore, Doncic’s impressive resume being the youngest EuroLeague MVP and winning the EuroLeague title, made him a legend before entering the NBA.
Doncic’s career with the Mavs has continued to soar, with five All-NBA First Team selections and five All-Star appearances in just six years. Brunson, on the other hand, left to join the Knicks and has now made a name for himself, earning an All-Star selection and Second Team All-NBA honors last season.
