The New York Knicks and the rest of the city were ecstatic that Jalen Brunson had signed a four-year contract worth $156.6 million. However, this deal comes with a twist as Brunson said no to an extra $113 million to give his side, the Knicks roster, flexibility for the upcoming 2024-25 NBA season. Interestingly, his teammate, Josh Hart, saw the funny side of this deal.

While speaking on their podcast, the Roommates Show, Hart trolled Brunson for ‘saying no to an extra $113 million’, claiming Brunson has a lot of money. Interestingly, this is not the first time Hart has trolled Brunson regarding his contract extension. The two stars share a brotherly bond on and off the court, and their recent podcast conversations are an example of their relationship.

You have so much money, you said no to an extra 113 million bro. I don't I don't have that luxury bro...He buys like 700 thousand dollar cars bro.
Josh Hart said

It’s important to note that this was purely a hilarious exchange between Hart and Brunson, with Brunson also clapping back, stating Hart too bought the same car for his wife.

The two stars have had more time than many other NBA players in preparation for the upcoming 2024-25 NBA season, which begins in September 2024. Both, Hart and Brunson will be raring to challenge for the NBA title this upcoming season, especially with how close they were last time.

Josh Hart’s bold appeal after teammate Jalen Brunson signed contract extension with Knicks

Jalen Brunson left the Knicks fans ecstatic after he signed a contract extension with the New York Knicks and also took a pay cut to stay in NY. Apart from the fans, another person who was filled with joy was his teammate and good friend, Josh Hart. Brunson taking a pay cut was a big sacrifice for winning the NBA with the Knicks.

Hart took to X to put forward his views on Brunson’s contract extension and also made a bold appeal regarding the Knicks star. Josh Hart wrote on X, “Build him a statue.” Hart has always been a longtime admirer of Brunson and has been visibly vocal about it in the past too.

In addition, Brunson’s tremendous sacrifice may motivate some of his teammates to follow suit. Also, the Knicks did not stop there. They followed down on the Villanova link, acquiring Donte DiVincenzo in free agency this past summer and then trading for Mikal Bridges from the Brooklyn Nets.
