It is a crucial week for Jalen Hurts and the Philadelphia Eagles. The team will go up against a young and hungry Washington Commanders squad. While the divisional rivalry between these teams is one that has been in existence since the 1960s, the home team will need all of their stars to cope with Jayden Daniels and the dominant offense.
Fortunately, for Philadelphia, their quarterback Jalen Hurts will be available and healthy to play in the NFC Championship game. The quarterback was hip-drop tackled in the Divisional Round game against the Rams. He subsequently left the game before stepping back in wearing a knee brace.
A recent video surfaced of him at practice. Jalen Hurts was seen relying on his right leg and seemed to apply lesser pressure on the left leg. However, the quarterback reassured fans at his recent press conference that he will be good to go on Sunday. “It’s been progressing, like coach said” and when asked if he will be wearing a knee brace during the game, the quarterback responded affirmatively. “I anticipate so,” Hurts confirmed. While his knee is not healed, Hurts will not let that hinder his performance.

The Eagles’ offense will rely on Saquon Barkley to lead them back to the Super Bowl
This Sunday, Jalen Hurts will play a true quarterback’s role. He should not be expected to scramble and take a chance rushing. The positive part for Philadelphia is that they have diverse talent on offense. The quarterback can rely on DeVonta Smith and A.J. Brown to do their thing but the team’s workhorse will be Saquon Barkley.
Everybody at Lincoln Financial knows who will get the most opportunities on offense. It is Barkley, who has been the backbone of this team. The running back’s motivation heading into this game is high. After all, he has never made it this far along in the playoffs in his career. There is just one win between him and an opportunity to play in the Super Bowl. It is safe to say that Barkley will be nothing less than unstoppable.
With that being said, Hurts’ injured knee poses an opportunity for the Commanders. They now have one less man to worry about covering while rushing. This does not mean that Hurts will abstain from scrambling because, after all, he is a fighter, and there is nothing he would not do to get back to the Super Bowl.
