The Wild Card Round may not be over, but for Jalen Hurts, AJ Brown, and the Philadelphia Eagles, their season is over, with a lot of question marks about their future becoming the most important topic.
Not only could they not defend their crown, but the team proved that sometimes change may not be the best thing. Changes did not impact the defense, which eventually grew to become one of the best in the league.
However, the offense was a different story, as their lackluster execution in this loss to the San Francisco 49ers has now placed two people front and center of every debate.
First and foremost, it is star wide receiver AJ Brown’s future in question, especially after his sideline altercation with head coach Nick Sirianni. Since reporters have a clue about what went down, they asked QB Jalen Hurts if he would like his receiver back next season.
AJ and I have talked, we’re in a great place. Maybe y’all can talk to him and ask.
Jalen Hurts replied
The Super Bowl LIX MVP said this with a wry smile on his face, knowing journalists are going to hound him for every piece of information they can get about Brown.
Jalen Hurts was asked straight up if he wanted Kevin Patullo back next year and then if he wanted AJ Brown back

After all, the WR decided it was better to skip their post-game interview as he could avoid questions about not just the altercation with his head coach, but also his crucial misses.
Young Eagles fan wants AJ Brown gone
Jalen Hurts might be hoping that his answer will either pacify reporters or shut down further questions about what he feels about AJ Brown. But Philly fans are not so forgiving.

This was a huge let-down. This was my Christmas present, and I got a loss. I want AJ Brown packing his bags, and I want him somewhere else that is not here. I love you AJ, but like, you can’t make those drops in that game.
Sam Salvo told ABC 6’s Briana Smith
This was young Eagles fan Sam Salvo, who was very disappointed with how his team’s superstar receiver played in their embarrassing loss to the San Francisco 49ers.
Sam Salvo is an Eagles fan and a character. 🤣

This Eagles game was his Christmas gift. He can’t return this one, but he’s hoping for better luck next year! 🦅

Already, fans of the franchise are enraged about how pedestrian their offense looked in that game. But it seems Salvo hit the nail on the head with his opinion on AJ Brown.
He also took a shot at offensive coordinator Kevin Patullo, as many others associated with football have. But to desire that the team’s best receiver be gone after what has been a trying season looks as if the passionate fan base has lost faith in him.
All-Pro D-tackle wants ‘crying’ AJ Brown gone
With fans starting to voice their opinion, former All-Pro defensive tackle Gerald McCoy decided to remind them that AJ Brown’s problems were evident all season long.
I’ve been saying this all year, the Philly fans, y’all can say what you want, I don’t care. You should have got rid of AJ Brown a long time ago. He’s never going to accept accountability… You can’t cry like that and then… you don’t make the play.
Gerald McCoy said on The Arena
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers great believes the signs were there throughout the season, but Philly fans were naive to cling to the hope that AJ Brown would eventually perform.

Then, when the opportunity arose, he could not catch the ball, particularly when his team needed him to step up and help them continue to defend their championship.
McCoy then slammed Brown for reacting to his head coach hurrying him off the field to avoid a penalty. The D-tackle believes that reaction showed that the wideout is not in a great space mentally.
