Jalen Hurts is famous for boasting the best poker face in sports. He rarely lets his emotions slip out in front of everyone, which sometimes generates hilarious memes on social media.
Fans discovered one such moment after the Philadelphia Eagles’ week three victory over the Los Angeles Rams. With seconds left on the clock, the Rams were presented with the chance to score the game-winning field goal to secure their third win of the campaign.
Rams kicker Joshua Karty’s try was blocked by center Jordan Davis, who scooped up the loose ball to score a 61-yard fumble return to seal the win for the Eagles.
One TV camera had remained fixated on Jalen Hurts the entire time for his reaction. Remarkably, the 27-year-old remained completely unfazed by the outcome.
A game of two halves for Jalen Hurts and the Eagles
Hurts gave the Eagles the lead with a tush-push-touchdown around the eighth-minute mark. From then on, it was all Karty’s show.

The second-year placekicker converted from 51, 28, 33 and 46 yards to give a twelve-point lead at the break. Right after the restart, Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford extended the gap further by setting up running back Kyren Williams for a 10-yard walk-in touchdown.
A little over two minutes later, Hurts connected with tight end Dallas Goedert for his first passing touchdown of the season. However, the Eagles were still far behind the Rams’ total.
It was time for AJ Brown to enter the frame. The star receiver only had 35 yards from the first two outings and desperately needed a jolt.
Hurts connected with Brown twice all day before finally setting the telling pass for a 9-yard touchdown.

After a long interval, the Rams managed to get Karty into the field goal range. However, his kick was blocked by the Eagles’ special teams, preventing the visitors from increasing their points tally.

Then came the longest drive of the entire game. Hurts led a 17-play drive, burning six minutes from the clock before throwing a 4-yard touchdown to DeVonta Smith to take the lead for the first time since the opening minutes.
Karty’s blocked FG leading to Jordan Davis’ return ended the fixture on a 26-33 win for the Eagles.
Hurts finished with 21 completions for 226 yards and 3 passing touchdowns, along with 9 carries for 40 yards and one rushing TD. Brown and Smith combined put up 169 yards and two scores.
A.J. Brown goes for 6/109/1 on 10 targets, including some incredibly impressive catches to help the Eagles get to 3-0.

At the post-game press conference, Hurts addressed the Eagles’ poor first-half performance.
It’s always good to get a win. If that doesn’t show you what type of team we are, I don’t know what does. We completely did that to ourselves in the first half. Completely. That’s something we gotta fix. It’s as simple as that. It’s unacceptable.
Jalen Hurts said (H/T: Newsweek)
Hurts vowed to play aggressively in the coming weeks.
We will fix the things that we need to fix.
Last year, Hurts was snubbed for the league MVP title but snagged the best player award in the Super Bowl. The Eagles stand a great chance of reaching the same stage in back-to-back years if he remains healthy. Next week, they travel to Florida to play the 3-0 Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
