Jalen Hurts twisted his knee while facing the Los Angeles Rams in the Philly snow. He dropped by the blue tent for a quick check-up while Kenny Pickett warmed up on the sidelines, but he sat back down as Hurts returned to the field. He did not miss a single snap, even though the camera showed the severity of the tackle.
The Philadelphia Eagles won the game and advanced to the NFC Championship game and are set to face the Washington Commanders. Shortly after the game concluded, reporters asked Hurts about the condition of his knee. Hurts replied it was fine.
However, a wave of concern swept across the Eagles fanbase when NBC Philadelphia’s John Clark shared a video from the Eagles’ recent practice session. In the short clip, a heavily clothed Hurts and Pickett were busy working on their footwork and throwing motions.

Hurts, after taking the ball from his coach, gestured, faking a pass to his running back, took a few steps to the side, and then the ball down the field. The 26-year-old’s footwork looked questionable. He appeared to be putting less pressure on his supposed hurt left knee.
Social media-famed doctor David J. Chao pointed out that Hurts was favoring his knee.
No question #JalenHurts is favoring his left knee.

100% playing but knee not 100%. https://t.co/7sEiYnKgua
Despite Chao’s speculations, the video doesn’t prove much. Hurts is still on course to start the game against the Commanders.
Guys this is all an illusion. I’m telling you don’t buy any of this. https://t.co/rwWIdZbYYI

What should Jalen Hurts do if his knee starts acting up?
First of all, the Eagles need to make sure he doesn’t let the knee worsen more than it already is. Next, he should keep things simple, releasing Saquon Barkley whenever the opportunity arises. This may reduce AJ Brown and DeVonta Smith’s catches and yards, but does decrease the chances of turnovers.
The pairing of Barkley and Hurts has been a massive success since Barkley moved from the New York Giants last year. The duo makes offensive coordinator Kellen Moore’s job a lot easier.
Hurts rushed for 630 yards this season, and he bagged a career-long 44-yard TD run against the Rams before hurting his knee. Meanwhile, Barkley is in the running for the Offensive Player of the Year award after recording 2,005 yards in 16 games.
