- The Philadelphia Eagles signed wide receiver Marquise 'Hollywood' Brown to a one-year deal to support quarterback Jalen Hurts.
- Brown praised Hurts as one of the top vertical passers in the league, emphasizing his deep ball skills.
- The Eagles also traded for veteran quarterback Andy Dalton to provide backup for Hurts amid ongoing criticism.
As most of the other teams are through with their offseason signings, the Philadelphia Eagles are trying to do everything they can to build a team Jalen Hurts can lead to another Super Bowl.
Contrary to expectations, the franchise has not been the most active in the offseason. While fans have seen many players change teams, the Eagles have been quietly getting the job done.
On defense, they handed out a monster contract extension to defensive tackle Jordan Davis, while losing starting safety Reed Blankenship, linebackers Jaelan Phillips, Nakobe Dean, Joshua Uche, and Azeez Ojulari to free agency.
At the same time, they also signed Super Bowl LX champion cornerback Tariq Woolen, along with fellow corner Jonathan Jones, and linebacker Arnold Ebiketie. All three players arrive on one-year deals.
Another player who arrived on a one-year deal happens to be former Kansas City Chiefs wideout Marquise ‘Hollywood’ Brown. Since he is coming off catching passes from Patrick Mahomes, the cast of Speakeasy wanted to know his opinion on Jalen Hurts.
I’ve always been a fan of Jalen Hurts… I personally feel like he is one of the top vertical passers in the league. His deep ball is great!

This claim left Speakeasy hosts LeSean McCoy and Emmanuel Acho looking at each other in disbelief, as that is not what they or the football knows about the Super Bowl LIX MVP.

Even after Acho tried to confirm Brown was speaking about Jalen Hurts and not Mahomes, the pass catcher reiterated that the Eagles’ starting quarterback’s skills are what attracted him to sign with the Eagles.
Marquise Brown hopes AJ Brown stays to help Jalen Hurts and Eagles’ Super Bowl bid
Marquise Brown may have high praise for Jalen Hurts, but football fans and many in the media believe that the QB is the reason star wide receiver AJ Brown is on the trading block.
Even though nothing has come about to indicate that the three-time Pro Bowler is about to leave, there is a fear that a team can come calling. With that in mind, the cast of Speakeasy asked the other Brown if he had any conversations about AJ Brown leaving.
Of course, I want AJ there. You want to be surrounded by great players. He’s a great player, and his last name Brown.

The Florida native reiterated that he would want his fellow surnamesake to stay, as having a great player will help him excel. Their collective goal is to win the Super Bowl, and if Jalen Hurts has three dynamic targets, it will ease his burden.
Eagles have clear vision trading for Jalen Hurts’ new backup
While Jalen Hurts is getting ready to play in the upcoming Fanatics Flag Football tournament, he will be keeping an eye on what the Philadelphia Eagles’ top brass are doing in free agency.

After re-signing Dallas Goedert and handing Marquise Brown a team-friendly one-year deal, GM Howie Roseman traded for another offensive piece.

Even though the former Carolina Panthers signal caller might not get to play unless Jalen Hurts suffers an injury, it seems the Eagles decided to spend a draft pick after seeing how Andy Dalton influenced his former team and their starting QB.

The veteran played a part in helping Bryce Young have a resurgent season. It seems the Eagles hope Dalton can do the same for their starting QB, who has been on the receiving end of a lot of criticism.
