Jalen Ramsey could be a “championship piece” for Ravens, feels ex-Cowboys star
Marcus Spears wants John Harbaugh and the Baltimore Ravens to spend one of their 11 picks in the 2025 NFL Draft and trade for Super Bowl-winning corner Jalen Ramsey.

Jalen Ramsey may be on the older side, but he’s a Super Bowl champion and had an impressive second year for the Miami Dolphins. He recorded 60 combined tackles, 11 pass deflections, and 2 interceptions.
The Dolphins realized that they should take the opportunity and cash in on Ramsey while he still has trade value. Even though he wanted to stick around in Miami, the Dolphins’ general manager, Chris Grier, claimed that placing Ramsey on the trade market is mutually beneficial.
We [the Dolphins] spent a lot of time this offseason working through this, talking through things. At the end of the day, Jalen [Ramsey] did not ask for a trade, so we went through the process and just felt that after numerous conversations and then talking last week with Jalen and his agent, that it was best to move forward.

Almost every team that wants to solidify its secondary was put on high alert. Teams such as the Atlanta Falcons, the Las Vegas Raiders, or the Tennessee Titans are on the hunt for a quality corner. However, Ramsey would want to join a contender rather than a team in a rebuild.
During the latest episode of NFL Live on ESPN, ex-Dallas Cowboys star Marcus Spears suggested that the Baltimore Ravens should trade for Jalen Ramsey.
We are at draft time, and every [team] wants to get young, but Jalen Ramsey, I truly feel still can be a championship piece surrounded by a team, just plug them in and play. And one of the places… is Baltimore [Ravens].

The Ravens would be a good place for the 30-year-old. Their offense is second to none, and the defense is also among the best. Additional cover for Kyle Hamilton and Marlon Humphrey in the shape of Ramsey is a no-brainer.
This feels like a Baltimore-type player, that will help you in your quest to win a championship, as they have been so close for so long.
Spears added
Ravens aren’t the only team that could try to trade for Jalen Ramsey
Ramsey’s trade talks are surprising. Either the Dolphins have found someone they like in the draft, or paying him has become too much of an issue. Moreover, even if they find a trade partner, they still have to pay the 7-time Pro Bowler his $25 million in 2025, of which he has already pocketed $4 million.

They would likely ask for a couple of mid to late-round draft picks. The Ravens pick 11 times (multiple 4th and 6th round picks) in 2025.
Booger McFarland liked Swagu’s idea of trading Ramsey to the Ravens, but he also suggested a couple of other teams where the former first-rounder would fit in nicely.
Minnesota [Vikings], Green Bay [Packers], what about Tampa [Bay Buccaneers]? Todd Bowles [Buccaneers head coach], you know, he wants to blitz a lot. You can put Jalen Ramsey in a lot of that man-to-man situations, plus Florida is a no-tax state. There are several situations where a corner of his caliber, somebody who’s got the pellets on the wall, that Jalen Ramsey, can play inside and outside and has scheme versatility.

Spears nodded to the suggestions from McFarland, but none of them are currently considered contender material.
I think a lot of times players get to this point, when they play such good football, they wanna go somewhere, where the team around him—to your point Boog—is going to reinvigorate them and be in a position each and every Sunday to not only win games but to make plays. And I can’t think of a better place than Baltimore.

Ramsey started his career with the Jacksonville Jaguars before the Jags traded him to the Los Angeles Rams in 2020. A year later, he won a ring. The following season, Ramsey logged his best-ever numbers in the NFL, recording 88 total tackles, 2.0 sacks, 18 pass deflections, 4 interceptions, 2 forced fumbles, and one fumble return.
A year later, the Dolphins traded tight end Hunter Long and the 77th overall pick in the draft to acquire Ramsey. In 2024, he signed a three-year, $72.30 million contract extension that included $24.23 million guaranteed.
