UFC light heavyweight champion Alex Pereira has beaten 3 world champions in last five outing at 205. After beating the likes of Jiri Prochazka, Jamahal Hill and Khalil Rountree in 2024, Pereira has stepped away to take a much needed break. This has left contenders at 205 to take shots at one another. In one such event, ‘The Czech Samurai’ fired back at his critics by stating they aren’t any better than him.
This puzzling response baffled the former champ Jamahal Hill. Soon, he reminded Prochazka of his last loss. ‘Sweet Dreams’ and Prochazka are booked to fight at UFC 311 early next year. In what could be only seen as a war of words, Hill mounted his defense against rival. He vowed to make a short work of the Czech fighter, much like the champion.
Jamahal Hill further added that in every fight, Prochazka seems to have a hard time. More often than not, the Czech fighter gets into a slugfest, whereas Hill takes less damage compared to Prochazka. He even dared to compare their every single performance in response to his rival’s ‘showing nothing’ comment. Their outing at UFC 311 could turn into a title eliminator following Magomed Ankalaev’s title shot next.

‘Poatan’ reflected on the booking of this light heavyweight matchup and stated that it likely won’t headline. Furthermore, he gave a nod to his former foe Khalil Rountree to best Hill in a potential clash. Meanwhile, ‘The Czech Samurai’ put his peers on notice promising to get back into the win column. However, neither men might earn the next shot, owing to Dana White’s previous statement.
Jiri Prochazka vs. Jamahal Hill at UFC 311 might not warrant a title shot
The opening card of 2025 is looking out to be a tasty treat for UFC fans. The event is gaining big fights with the main-event still unannounced. It is quite likely that the clash between 205 contenders would take up the co-main event spot, but might not carry any title implication. This is because the UFC boss has made his thoughts clear about the future of the 205-pound division.
Speaking with media during UFC 308 post fight presser, White gave a single word answer ‘Yes’ to confirm Ankalev’s title shot. Now, in a recent development, the Dagetani fighter has claimed the UFC boss contacted his team to confirm the booking. When will the fight take place? That remains unconfirmed as the UFC is heading into holiday season.
@danawhite told my team I’m next for Alex thank you for clearing this today

‘Poatan’ is currently enjoying a much needed break from his arduous schedule of 2024. The 205-pound champion broke a long-standing record of Ronda Rousey by defending his title three times under 175 days. Thus far, the MMA giant has made no confirmation about his next booking, but news from rumor mill point towards clash with Ankalaev.
