The stage is set for the main event fight at UFC 300 between Alex Pereira and Jamahal Hill. The fans gave an incredible welcome to the fighters at the pre-fight press conference. The crowd was wild, and they could bring the same energy to fight night. Both the fighters looked confident and, as expected, exchanged a few heated words.

During the presser, despite the language barrier, Alex Pereira shared his opinions through his translator. ‘Poatan’ mentioned that Jamahal Hill would not be able to forget the night. While responding to Pereira, Hill lost his cool and went on an aggressive rant on the reigning champion.

Write it down, take a picture, I don’t give a f***....you step in there with me, ain’t nothing to talk about. Ain’t nothing to say. It’s all right here and I’m on your a**.

Throughout the fight build-up, Hill and Pereira have shown great mutual respect. ‘Sweet Dreams’ was even observed asking Pereira for an autograph when they bumped into each other ahead of the fight. However, both have now put on their fighting faces and are ready to go all out.

Hill vacated his light heavyweight title due to the Achilles injury around July. The fighter is now extremely determined to get back what he lost and is not scared of Pereira or his power. On the other hand, it is the Brazilian’s first-ever title defense as the light heavyweight champion. Pereira would like to get a different result than his last title defense in the middleweight division.

Alex Pereira’s UFC run is undeniably incredible. The fighter managed to destroy everybody he fought and steamrolled his way through to win two UFC titles in different weight classes. The only fighter who was able to stop the Brazilian was none other than the former middleweight champion Israel Adesanya

Ahead of UFC 300, Hill mentioned that he had taken advice from Izzy to beat Pereira. The former champion wanted to know what Adesanya did to prepare himself for Pereira. When asked about this, the Brazilian had a very positive response to it.

I think it was good. Actually, it was the best thing he could have done for himself, because if he had went and sparred with Israel Adesanya, it would have been a big frustration for him, especially for the fact that I beat him so many times

According to Pereira, it was the best thing Hill could have done to get some input for the fight. Despite their rivalry, Izzy and Pereira have always shown mutual respect towards each other. Nevertheless, Adesanya and ‘Poatan’ often like to taunt each other. It would be interesting to see if Hill can replicate what Izzy did to Pereira at UFC 300.

In case you missed it!
