In a short time, Alex Pereira has become one of the biggest superstars in the UFC. Even though he does not speak English, he has found a fanbase across North America. Even in Canada at UFC 297, the Brazilian received one of the biggest cheers. So, it is safe to assume that he will have fans by his side at UFC 300, where he will have to fight Jamahal Hill.

UFC CEO Dana White waited a long time to announce the main event of UFC 300. However, the fan response was negative when he announced Hill vs Pereira for it. Over time, it has changed now. Recently, Hill met Pereira for the first time at the UFC fighter hotel for UFC 300. Hill inquired about an interesting thing while conversing with ‘Poatan.’

Chama is Alex Pereira’s iconic catchphrase. Now, it is popular all across social media. Pereira replied that Hill’s inquiry meant ‘let’s go.’ Social media posts involving Pereira always have the word ‘Chama’ in them. The duo had a respectful encounter despite the trash talks involved in the fight build-up.

Afterward, Hill requested Pereira to sign his hoodie as he had already gotten the signatures of all other fighters at UFC 300. Furthermore, both vowed to do their best to entertain fans at the PPV. Hill hopes to regain the title he never lost, whereas Pereira will aim to defeat another former world champion.

Dan Hooker predicts Jamahal Hill vs Alex Pereira

Many elite fighters gave their prediction for the winner of the main event of UFC 300. Fighters do not have a favorite in this matchup. Some, including Israel Adesanya, Pereira’s longtime rival, picked Hill to win on his YouTube show. On the other hand, Charles Oliveira picked ‘Poatan’ to retain.

Along with Adesanya, Dan Hooker also gave predictions on the show. In most cases, they disagreed with the pick. However, in the case of Pereira vs. Hill, both had the same pick – Jamahal Hill. Funnily enough, Hooker explained that he picked Hill because Adesanya did it, and Hill was friends with Nigerian-born Kiwi.

Stylistically, Hooker believed that Pereira was a bad matchup for Hill due to the leg kicks. However, Hill had already made fun of it. Therefore, Hooker believed that Hill had something in store to counter Pereira’s leg kicks.

Hooker also stated that both Pereira and Hill have equal chances of knocking each other out. However, he felt that, due to Pereira’s popularity, people thought Pereira’s power was far superior to Hill’s. Only time will tell if the predictions of Adesanya and Hooker become a reality.
