Jamahal Hill‘s rivalry with Alex Pereira and fellow light-heavyweight contenders continues to be the talk of the town. The former champion clashed with ‘Poatan’ in the iconic UFC 300 PPV card this year. ‘Sweet Dreams’ walked into the fight with utmost confident to dethrone the Brazilian fighter. Unfortunately, the fight did not go as expected as Pereira knocked Hill out after refusing a ‘low-blow break.’
Unfazed from his original take, Jamahal Hill continues to call the mishap unfair, partly pushing the blame on Pereira and Herb Dean. Former champion felt Dean served as a major distraction by pulling the fight to a stop, then retreating on Poatan’s command. The 33-year-old feels he can change the outcome next time if given a chance. However, his latest take seems to have turned him into a subject of heavy trolling.
Hill continues to share the belief that the finish of this fight came through unfair means. The American fighter got into a heated back-and-forth with fans, who begged to differ. Currently, he is slated to fight another former champion in Jiri Prochazka on the UFC 311 card.
Sweet Dreams and Prochazka has been trading barbs with one another for sometime now. Hill isn’t giving up his title aspiration just yet as he sees a path to the title with a win over the Czech fighter. In a follow up tweet, he admitted to making a mistake in the first fight with Pereira, something he won’t repeat.
Jamahal Hill believes that Alex Pereira "advanced during a timeout" leading to him getting knocked out at #UFC300:

Jumping into social media barbs among his rivals, Pereira promised Hill a rematch should he get past Prochazka. Meanwhile, Hill’s continuous attacks on the legitimacy of the UFC 300 finish have gained him infamy from the MMA world. The fight fans are dismissing his take with opposing viewpoints, that have seemed to irk the fighter.
MMA fans in disbelief over Jamahal Hill’s strange take on Alex Pereira fight
Alex Pereira has grown into a fan-favorite and a PPV star for UFC in just three years. The Brazilian’s impressive striking pedigree and exciting fight style have earned him fanfare from the world over. The champion’s recent visit to Korea really showcased his celebrity status in full effect. It isn’t a surprise to see fans coming in droves to refute Hill’s bizarre claim of foul play.
MMA fans believes the entire mishap played no role in the outcome of the fight, although one UFC legend feels it had some implications. UFC commentator, Daniel Cormier backed Hill in his criticism of the official. It looks like fans aren’t having none of it as they jumped to troll the American fighter after his recent comments.

Herb said stop then the fight continued because Pereira said he didn’t want a timeout & he wasn’t hurt. Then Hill threw the first punch. Hill caused the timeout to happen because he threw the low blow. He committed the foul, then threw the first punch and was still KO’d ??

The American fighter has a tough task ahead of him in number 3 ranked contender. This fight could dictate the next top title challenger, following Magomed Anaklaev. Meanwhile, UFC has yet to announce the booking of the 205 title next, as the Brazilian is enjoying a well-deserved break from MMA. Judging by the strength of Pereira’s schedule, fans can expect another title defense in the first half of 2025.
