A tweet from Chase’s agent Caitlin Aoki sprung up a jab at the Bengals’ management for their low pay. Aoki addressed the Bengals’ decision not to offer her client a long-term, lucrative contract.

Earlier this season, Chase expressed a strong desire for a long-term deal with the Bengals. However, negotiations stalled as management, under owner Mike Brown, reportedly deemed Chase’s asking price too high. Chase had reportedly asked for a penny more than Justin Jefferson’s pay grade from Minnesota Vikings.

In response, Ja’Marr Chase secured a $50 million insurance policy to protect himself financially in case of injury during his final year under his rookie contract. The move has heightened the pressure on the Bengals’ management as Chase continues to prove his market value with exceptional on-field performances.
