The Cincinnati Bengals are spending their postseason on the comfort of their couches for the second year. Despite their attempt to make a late-season playoff push, the team was not in control of its fate. For the team’s players and fanbase, the success of the Kansas City Chiefs must be hurting more than the pain of not being in a position to beat them.

While the Bengals’ players will not be physically present for the Super Bowl, they will be there in spirit, giving their full support to the Philadelphia Eagles. Star wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase is enjoying his time at the Pro Bowl and in an interview with ESPN, he was asked whom he would be repping on Superbowl Sunday.

Everyone knows I’m not a KC fan so I’m hoping Saquon rushes for like 200 this game. I think overall it’ll be a great game because both sides has great players on each side.

The Chiefs-Bengals rivalry is intense but a blessing for fans because of the unpredictability involved in them.

Ja’Marr Chase shares the same sentiments towards the Chiefs as the Bengals fanbase

The Cincinnati Bengals have been the only team apart from Tom Brady- led Patriots and Buccaneers who had beat Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs in the playoffs. Joe Burrow is widely regarded as Mahomes’ kryptonite which is why fans keep vying to see a rematch between these teams in the post-season.

Their rivalry is as intense as the one present between the Chiefs-Bills. Ja’Marr Chase‘s choice does not come as a surprise. In fact, people are hoping for Jalen Hurts and Saquon Barkley to win their first ring rather than watch Kansas City three-peat.

This is also because the Chiefs ended Cincinnati’s shot at securing a playoff berth by losing to the Denver Broncos in Week 18. The reigning Super Bowl champions have irked opposing fanbases because there is a belief that they have gained the bias of the league’s referees.

The storylines are interesting in the run-up to Super Bowl LIX. Will Saquon Barkley complete the best revenge arc in the history of the NFL? Will Jalen Hurts step up to the challenge against Patrick Mahomes? Or will Mahomes create history and enter the GOAT debate with this feat? One thing is certain, it will be a hard-fought battle between the two best teams in the NFL.
