Even before the Cincinnati Bengals finished their 2024 season, fans and media knew they had some major decisions to make in the offseason. Prime among them was the contract extensions of wideouts Ja’Marr Chase and Tee Higgins.

The franchise tagged Higgins again, which ended up irking his mother. He wanted to stay long term, but over the past two seasons, they have not been able to hammer out a good compromise. With Ja’Marr Chase‘s mega deal in the waiting room, many felt Higgins’ run in Ohio was nearing its end.

But a few weeks later, all of that uncertainty was put to rest after the Bengals announced long-term deals for not just Chase, but Higgins as well. Now both the partners-in-crime had deals collectively worth $273 million.

Usually, athletes armed with a decent contract splurge on houses and cars. But Chase and Tee Higgins took it a step further when they landed in Miami. Videos of the wideouts inside expensive supercars went viral.

On one hand was the highest-paid non-QB, who was driving a white Lamborghini Aventador SVJ. That limited-edition model goes for nearly $750,000 on the used market. The highest-paid WR2, on the other hand, was driving a McLaren 765LT Spider that commands prices around the $550,000 mark.

Both the wide receivers were seen driving around Miami highways, along with some other cars in tow. At certain times, they are seen accelerating hard until they encounter traffic. It might not be racing or driving at high speeds, but those quick bursts can also be tricky to handle.

Fans fume after Ja’Marr Chase and Tee Higgins show off supercars

Football fans watching the clips felt that the two superstars were showing off after signing their monster deals. They will earn generational wealth, but fans felt it was important to stay humble. They felt it was athletes showing off their diva side.

At the same time, fans also pointed out that both the wideouts have not won anything in the NFL to show off in this manner. Then there were some who pointed out how some other players earning big bucks have fared after showing off. Check out examples of those comments below.

Overall, fans were pointing to major incidents that have taken place over the past few years. Henry Ruggs‘ football career ended early, and authorities are still investigating Rashee Rice. Tyreek Hill‘s arrest at the start of this past season became the storyline, and quite ironically, in the same city the two Bengals stars were.

However, the two Cincinnati Bengals stars might not have had any ill feelings while driving around in those cars. Moreover, there was someone in a white Lamborghini Huracan who was setting the pace up ahead. It could have been a controlled situation, but events of the past triggered fans.

Bengals stars showed some class to a young fan

It was not as if both Ja’Marr Chase and Tee Higgins were just showing off. In one of the videos, the latter’s expressions give the impression that it was the first time he was driving such cars. He was enjoying it as much as he could. The 25-year-old leading wideout though, had a woman beside him throughout this trip.

After the drive, they parked at a gas station and continued recording videos. While this was going on, a young fan came up to them. Turns out, he was a Bengals fan and both Chase and Higgins welcomed him with wide smiles on their faces.

The fan’s mother snapped photos of her son posing with the superstars. All the time, both of them did not show off the type of attitude diva receivers usually do. This heartwarming moment did impress fans, and some suggested that both of them are humble athletes.

The wideouts were pleasantly surprised that the young fan cheered for their team. That is, even though he lives in Florida, a state that has three NFL teams of their own. It could be that the fan was enamored by the exciting offensive lineup they have with these two and Joe Burrow.
