Beyond the court, this NBA offseason has been nothing short of explosive. The league has changed due to unexpected trades. Some players are bonding with loved ones who live far away, while others are taking a well-deserved rest. The world continues to watch as brands collaborate with the NBA stars, fusing culture, business, and charm, even while the game pauses.

Such has been the case with the NBA and Los Angeles Clippers star James Harden, who most recently arrived in China for the 2025 UNO Tour carried out by the famous brand Adidas. This is one of the important periods for brands and players to market their particular shoes and products in various countries.

Nevertheless, there was a roar when the Clippers’ star arrived, rather than a quiet entry. James Harden was greeted by a sea of loyal admirers as he exited the van and entered his hotel in China, not only by cameras. In a now-famous video that has gone viral, Harden is surrounded by hundreds of Chinese fans:

It’s interesting to note that James Harden and China have a long history together; their bond was developed over the years rather than overnight. He is now more than just a guest; he is a well-known figure whose presence reverberates beyond the hardwood in the Asian country.

Harden has made his imprint through cultural exchanges and business alliances, most notably with Adidas, where his signature shoe line has come to represent fashion, swagger, and global influence. Notably, Harden was also involved in a controversial matter with the Chinese fans during his time at the Sixers.

This was back in 2019-20 when the ex-Houston Rockets GM Daryl Morey tweeted in support of Hong Kong, infuriating the Chinese in the process. Harden quickly apologized to the Chinese fans and stated how much he enjoys playing in the nation at that time. ‘We apologise. You know, we love China,’ he told reporters.

James Harden’s ‘Harden Vol. 10’ Adidas shoe was seemingly leaked on social media

In 2015, James Harden first agreed to a 13-year, $200 million footwear contract with Adidas. Harden is slated to get a possible lifetime contract in the coming years after quickly becoming the face of their basketball business.

Given that Harden is in China to promote his new Volume 10 Harden shoes in collaboration with Adidas – but to his surprise, the shoes have already been leaked by a viral social media account on X.

The design is definitely in line with what one’s seeing Adidas do these days, given the same vibe of the Anthony Edwards signature line, even though neither Harden nor Adidas have officially confirmed that this is his most recent Harden Vol. 10.

James Harden gets into HoopsHype’s top 5 rankings list regarding the shooting-guard position

James Harden is a name that will always go down in the history books of the NBA. Surprisingly, he never won an NBA ring, but his impact on the sport was undeniable. With his skill as a facilitator, he helped Joel Embiid earn the MVP award in the 2022–2023 season, leading the league in assists at 10.7 per game.

Notably, HoopsHype ranked their top 20 shooting guards of all time in the NBA, and Harden was ranked 5th in their list.

James Harden has a Hall-of-Fame resume thanks to his unreal scoring ability and playmaking. His crossover and stepback jumper made him impossible to slow down, as did his strong shoulder on drives to the rim. He still has a chance to add to his legacy over the coming years, though winning a championship ring in L.A. feels like a really long shot by now.

Harden led the Houston Rockets to two Western Conference finals, although he fell short due to the opposition being the Golden State Warriors. But Harden’s capabilities are not to be ignored. He also had his chances with the Sixers, particularly in 2023, but he was unsuccessful as the Clippers were unable to advance past Round 1.
