Uncertainty is the only thing that is looming on top of the Houston Rockets in this off season. With James Harden declining his 2-year extension, he has demanded a trade instead. New acquisition John Wall sends a cryptic message over the Harden trade topic. It is interesting to note that earlier when asked form Wall, he sounded pretty confident that Harden would start the 2020-21 season with the Rockets. But now as he has changed his decision, does it mean something else? 

Harden’s eagerness could be seen with his recent incidents, with missing back-to-back practices with the Rockets. Then eventually skipping his private session with the Head Coach. Especially after Russell Westbrook left the Rockets for Washington Wizards, it doesn’t seem like Harden’s heart want him to be wearing the red jersey again.

John Wall is a very similar player to Russell Westbrook. Both the players are most effective when they have the ball in their hand. Last season it was evident that Westbrook struggled to play off-the ball.

With the teams like 76ers, Nets and the Heat in the running for the trade, the Rockets will get some exciting young talent, if a trade materializes. The Rockets might have lost the championship window for Harden, but the younger talents will keep the team competitive for a much longer time. Given that the Rockets’ did not make strong and young acquisitions in this off-season, have led the morale down even further. 

Having said that, the Beard’s trade will certainly give the Rockets some great young players. He might be a big miss for them, but if all the younger players develop, the Rockets will become a serious contender for a long time.
