Despite signing the star veteran Aaron Rodgers, the New York Jets suffered a poor fate last season when the quarterback got injured on the very first snap of 2023. That’s why the team walked an extra mile this offseason the ensure they don’t suffer the same fate as the past season.
The team already had a strong defense which got them through several games last season when the offense was on the verge of collapse. Now they have improved their offense as well by adding strong weapons. With signal-caller Rodgers’ determination to reclaim the contender status for his team– the Jets are turning out as a strong Super Bowl contender.
His former teammate James Jones agreed with the notion when asked in the recent episode of Fox Sports’ Speak. While expressing his belief in the Jets quarterback, Jones argued that the current roster is the best the quarterback got since 2010.
“You better believe it,” asserted Jones when asked does he believed that the Jets have a realistic chance of making the Super Bowl in the coming 2024 season.
It’s realistic because of this roster. I think this is the best roster Aaron Rodgers has had since 2010– when we had a top-ten defense. He is going to have a top-10 defense whether we like it or not… It might even be in the top five.James Jones added
Jones highlighted how the last time the veteran quarterback had such a top-rated defense, he succeeded with a Super Bowl victory. He predicted that the Jets are going to be a solid football team based in New York, especially since they improved the offensive line.
Aaron Rodgers’ efforts to reunite with Davante Adams
As the Super Bowl champion ought to rebuild the Jets, he appears to be pulling all strings to bring in his former teammate and the most important player of the Las Vegas Raiders, Davante Adams into the Jets roster. At his recent appearance on the Up & Adams podcast by Kay Adams, the veteran receiver revealed how Rodgers has been in his ear for their reunion.
However considering how well the receiver is treated by the Raiders, he doesn’t seem too keen on acquiring a big-money deal from the Jets.
Moreover, money is another big reason why bringing in Adams would be inconvenient for the Jets. With the receiver set to receive at least $30 million in 2025 and 2026, the salary cap of the Jets wouldn’t live up to such expectations without compromising on other aspects.
