James Wiseman has torn meniscus in right knee, likely to miss remaining season

Golden State Warriors’ rookie James Wiseman has torn his meniscus in right knee which could cause him to miss the remainder of the 2020-21 season as per the sources of ESPN. He was the overall #2 pick in this year’s draft and suffered a devastating blow on Saturday night against the Houston Rockets. 

James Wiseman is averaging 11.5 points and 5.8 rebounds in 21 minutes per game this season. He missed three weeks in February with a wrist injury. Talking about his injury, suffered the injury in the second quarter of Saturday’s victory over Houston when he elevated for a dunk and landed awkwardly after Rockets forward Kenyon Martin Jr. blocked him. 

James Wiseman’s injury could make him miss rest of the season 

The Golden State Warriors were desperately dependent upon their youngsters acquired this season to perform in the absence of Klay Thompson. With Kelly Oubre Jr, Andre Wiggins and James Wiseman taking the spotlight to step up, this could be a huge blow to the playoff chances of the Dubs.

Stephen Curry however knocked applaud worthy 38 points to lead the Warriors past the Houston Rockets. Curry has been left helpless without the help of his teammates in this season and to make it into the playoffs, Wiseman could have been the key card. 

But having said that, all eyes will be now on Stephen Curry and the Warriors’ management to use the roster in the absence of James Wiseman, if he surely missed the remainder of the 2020-21 season.
