Alex Pereira has solidified his reputation as the most dominant UFC champion of recent times. Since capturing the light heavyweight title, the Brazilian powerhouse has successfully defended his belt three times in 2024 alone. Among these performances, his devastating knockout of Jamahal Hill stands out as a display of his unmatched striking power.
Months after the loss, Hill still hasn’t accepted his defeat and recently went to confront Alex Pereira at the UFC PI in Las Vegas. After a verbal exchange, Pereira asked Hill to wear gloves and fight him but the former champion avoided that. Jan Blachowicz recently reviewed the incident and slammed Hill for backing up against Pereira.
Blachowicz had also made a tweet on the situation poking fun at Hill for not standing his ground during the confrontation. Unlike Hill, Blachowicz has gone the distance against Pereira and has given him the toughest fight in the division. The Polish powerhouse also suggested that Hill should not have gone to Pereira if he didn’t want the smoke.
Jamahal Hill, on the other hand, had a different opinion on the matter and blamed ‘Poatan’ for starting the altercation. According to the American fighter, he just wanted to talk to the champ. However, he allegedly received provocations from the light heavyweight champion. Furthermore, this whole interaction has mostly backfired for the top contender.
Jamahal Hill losing his mind over online provocations
Initially, Jamahal Hill used to be a fan favorite due to his incredible title run. However, due to an achilles injury, he has to relinquish the title. During his absence, Alex Pereira rose to championship status and became the new superstar. During his fight against Pereira at UFC 300, Hill tried to trash-talk his opponent which failed miserably.
Even after the loss, Hill continued to badmouth ‘Poatan’ and made various excuses for his defeat. This changed fans’ perspective about him, which resulted in regular trolling towards him. While many fighters chose to avoid social media negativity, Hill did the opposite and participated in various altercations with random fight fans.
Lack of awareness I literally control this whole community I’m pulling yall strings whatever way I want!!

This trend has remained the same for Hill for some time now. Currently, he is scheduled to fight Jiri Prochazka at UFC 311, and the fans are hyped about it. Nevertheless, this is a great opportunity for Hill to get one step closer to his title rematch against the Brazilian superstar.
