Although one might suggest that the LA Lakers have given up a couple of their veterans with the hope of acquiring young talents in their roster. However, Jared Dudley is one veteran that has re-signed with the defending champions on a 1-year deal for $2.6 Million. Dudley was not a regular figure on the court for the Lakers but his importance is felt in the locker room as well as his heart warming interviews.

Dudley also claimed that he would be willing to do anything to play for the Lakers even if he had to beg their General Manager, Rob Pelinka for it. Looks like the Lakers granted him his wish. Dudley responded to all the memes that started circulating about his return to the purple and gold.

Dudley could not control his emotions and as soon as the announcement was made official, he posted on Twitter and wrote, “‘I’m back.’ (Jordan voice)”. As being said earlier, Dudley had less of game time for the Lakers in the 2019-20 season. Some suggest his experience matters more than his stats. The Lakers did not need much of him in the postseason last year, so he spent most of his time on the bench.

Now that the season is going to be more compact, it’s possible he will play a bigger role than just an emergency back-up option. Signing a player like Dudley will ease the franchise’s transition into their new roster and may help them win another title.

The pre-season is all set to begin from December 11 where the Lakers would face their city rivals, Clippers in the very first encounter. Having being scheduled to play 4 times in the pre season, Dudley would be hoping to get some game time under him before the regular season.

Having said that, let us know about your views on the Los Angeles Lakers re-signing Jared Dudley? Is it a wise move? Or will the defending champions regret their choice later?
