The NBA has progressed into an age where social media plays a vital role in shaping the public persona of players. In addition to that, the new crop of millennials have a different approach to not only their game, but also their lifestyle. For a player from the previous generation such as Carmelo Anthony, the differences are stark.

During his times, players had to ensure they dressed a certain way and did not do anything controversial. Nowadays flamboyant fashion has become a part of gameday attire. Players compete to outdo their own fits from their previous game as well as their teammates. Some do step into the overtly wild, but most take their fashion seriously.

Carmelo Anthony feels new generation players do not care

That excellent play on the basketball court has seemingly given the young players the green light to be themselves. Otherwise, they would have faced much more criticism from fans and the media. However, the ten-time NBA All-Star told Complex that is not the case.

I feel like they don’t care; that’s what it is. They don’t care, they are fearless, you know what I mean? And they don’t care what nobody say. They do it for themselves, in their own way, and feel good about doing it.
