While unhappy with her 2-6, 6-2, 6-4 defeat to Krejcikova in the Wimbledon final, she remains confident of winning a Grand Slam title in the future.

Today it’s a bit tough to speak. But it’s been a really good two weeks. I have to accept today and try to work hard. I’m sure I’m gonna do it. But today it’s tough. Because I was close, but it wasn’t enough.

Jasmine Paolini said during her press conference

The Italian will take home $1.7 million in prize money after an impressive Wimbledon campaign, while Krejcikova has earned $3.4 million following her title win.

Jasmine Paolini “happy with the results” following another Grand Slam final loss

The 28-year-old said that she was happy with her performance this year despite coming very close to clinching a Major twice.

Today I was dreaming to hold the trophy. But it didn’t go well. I’m just enjoying the position I’m in now. #5 in the world is unbelievable. I just did finals in 2 grand slams. I have to be also happy with the results.

Paolini is expected to take a break before shifting her attention to the Paris Olympics, where she will hope to win a medal for Italy.
