2024 could prove to be a historic season for Travis Kelce and the Kansas City Chiefs because they can become the first team to win the Super Bowl three years in a row. Jason Kelce showed complete confidence in his brother’s team, claiming they have a significantly better squad compared to last season.

The 36-year-old spoke with Aaron Ladd of KSHB41 through FaceTime in between practicing his golf swings at the American Century Celebrity tournament at Lake Tahoe in Los Angeles. Ladd asked the important question: whether the Chiefs could actually pull off a three-peat.

The retired Philadelphia Eagles center quipped that anytime his team reached the Super Bowl, they would have a horrible following year. That may be true for the Eagles, but the Chiefs are a different team. Kelce claimed that the reigning Super Bowl champions have the required tools to win another one.

They got the pieces in place… the important ones, the quarterback [Patrick Mahomes], the head coach [Andy Reid]… they re-signed all the key pieces in offense and defense.

In the initial phase of the 2023 season, the Chiefs did not pose as the dominant side that every AFC team wanted to beat. Despite the absence of a world-class wideout, Patrick Mahomes orchestrated the wins, dragging them into the playoffs and eventually lifting the Lombardi trophy.

Jason Kelce asserted that the Chiefs have improved from last year

The Chiefs winning despite the lack of cohesiveness must have been a hard pill to swallow for Kelce, being an Eagle, but at the same time, he was happy for Travis. More importantly, he feels that the Chiefs have improved their squad in the offseason.

There are a lot of new pieces that were never before last year and the fact that they got it done last year now it’s gonna be even more continuity. The new pieces can potentially help with some of the weaknesses they had. [I think] they look even stronger.

Chiefs general manager Brett Veach made the most of the offseason break. He re-signed most of the first-team players, including linebacker Drue Tranquill, defensive tackles Derrick Nnadi, Mike Danna, Tershawn Wharton, and Mike Pennel.

All-Pro tackle Chris Jones extended his contract for five years and Travis Kelce for two years. Additionally, they added former Cardinals and Ravens wide receiver Marquise Hollywood Brown, replacing Marquez Valdes Scantling, who joined the Bills.

Kelce, during an episode of the New Heights podcast, revealed how excited he was about Brown.

I'm pumped about this one, man. The guy can [absolutely] fly. Talked to my guys, my Oklahoma Sooners, on what type of guy he is and everybody just raves about the person he is in the building.

The Chiefs drafted the fastest player in the 2024 NFL Combine, Xavier Worthy for extra depth in the receiver core. Louis Rees-Zammit joined through the international pathway as added pressure for Isiah Pacheco and Clyde Edwards-Heliare.
