The Kelce Brothers have always been quite vocal about the ongoing matters concerning the league and their personal lives on their New Heights podcast. This time it was the controversial speech by Travis Kelce’s teammate, Harrison Butker at the graduation ceremony of Benedictine College.
It’s been two weeks since his speech went viral on the internet receiving tons of backlash, yet the matter remained fresh– compelling prominent names within the industry to comment. Jason Kelce, who previously expressed his displeasure over the intense roast targeting Tom Brady’s ex-wife at his Netflix roast, revealed on the recent episode of his podcast how Butker’s speech frustrated his wife, Kylie.
My wife, she was, I think, a little bit frustrated with some of the comments. Initially, I said, ‘You’re going to need to go back into the kitchen and make me a sandwich. I’m listening to the game right now.'said Jason Kelce before bursting into laughter with his brother over his sarcastic joke to Kylie
I hope she doesn’t hear that.Jason Kelce added
Up until that ‘ridiculous joke’ by Jason, he and Travis had kept the conversion serious as the future potential Hall of Famer mocked how Butker was invited to deliver a commencement speech but it ended up becoming a “very religious and Catholic” speech.
Jason Kelce emphasizes importance of family but respects women’s diverse aspirations
Jason, following the footsteps of his wife who encouraged the graduating students at her alma mater to pursue their passion, asserted that not every woman has to be a homemaker unless she really wants to. He emphasized the importance of family and being a great mother.
At the same time, he believes it shouldn’t be imposed on people who don’t want it.
When you’re listening to somebody you take in things that you like [and] you listen to other things and say, ‘I don’t f**king like that.'Jason Kelce added
Jason believes that embracing parenthood is an important aspect of life. However, it’s also a serious thing and it shouldn’t be entirely dependent on women as prioritizing the family is equally important for men.
