With his Philadelphia Eagles failing to defend their crown, Jason Kelce got down to talk about offensive coordinator Kevin Patullo on Monday Night Countdown.
The future Hall of Fame center watched his former team struggle on offense. It was a culmination of their offensive struggles that have plagued their Super Bowl LIX winning defense this campaign.
Many have called on the Eagles to finally part ways with Kevin Patullo, after analysts and fans have felt that his play-calling was the root of all their problems. But Kelce had a different opinion in mind.
I know it wasn’t the best performance this year offensively. They have the No. 1 highest-paid offense in the league, and were mediocre across the board. That’s unacceptable. They had their chances to win that game yesterday, and the players didn’t make the plays!
Jason Kelce said
The Super Bowl champion was heated when calling out Eagles players, as he felt Patullo is a good coach. But this embarrassment of a performance was clearly on the players.

He might have been leaning on the likes of quarterback Jalen Hurts, who could not find the efficiency needed to drive the ball down the field. Jason Kelce might also be pointing his finger at AJ Brown, who could not connect on two deep passes, which could have helped the Eagles turn the game around in their favor.
Their 168 total passing yards, as opposed to the San Francisco 49ers’ 286 without star tight end George Kittle, also may have angered the New Heights host enough to call out his former teammates.
Marcus Spears wants Kevin Patullo gone
Jason Kelce directed the blame onto his former teammates after listening to what his Monday Night Countdown colleagues said a while earlier on NFL Live.

Kevin Patullo’s a** needs to be gone. This was a horrible year of calling offensive plays. I don’t think the Philadelphia Eagles’ offense is as bad as we watched it based on the talent. That’s what kept us on a string all year long.
Marcus Spears said
Just like Kelce, the former Dallas Cowboys defensive tackle was also animated when talking about how Kevin Patullo’s incompetence undermined what could have been a Super Bowl-winning campaign.
"Kevin Patullo's ass needs to be gone."

He reiterated that this Wild Card loss to the 49ers was just the final blow. It was evident all year long how bad and predictable the Eagles’ offense was.
Contrary to Jason Kelce’s opinion, Marcus Spears believes that the talent on disposal was the sole reason the Eagles managed to do whatever they did. That is why he wants Kevin Patullo gone.
Ryan Clark chimes in on Kevin Patullo’s lack of creativity
While on NFL Live, the cast listened to Saquon Barkley talk about how a team has to be at its best in the playoffs. Hearing this, Ryan Clark started talking about why the Eagles lost.
There was no creativity. There wasn’t anything in Kevin Patullo’s game or bag that said, ‘Ok, we are going to do something that you haven’t seen the entire season.’ As a team, they were just out-coached.
Ryan Clark said
He reiterated that there were times when it seemed as if offensive coordinator Kevin Patullo was unlocking everything from his players. Then there were many times when the offense fell flat.
"There was no creativity. … As a team, they were just out coached."

As the season progressed, the lack of creativity was evident, but many hoped the playcaller might have something to show in the postseason. Then, in the Wild Card round, there was none, as the 49ers took the chance to ensure the Eagles were not going to advance.
That falls firmly on Kevin Patullo’s shoulders, as the team became too predictable. When the playoffs come around, and the going gets tough, a team has to come up with something its opponent has not seen before, which the Eagles couldn’t.
