Jason Kelce defends brother and Chiefs TE Travis Kelce claiming he “always found a way to show up”
During Monday night's Chiefs-Saints game, Jason Kelce shared that his brother, Travis Kelce, has always prioritized football despite dating Taylor Swift.

As Travis Kelce warmed up to play against the New Orleans Saints at Arrowhead, his brother Jason Kelce sat in ESPN’s booth watching his every move. Even though the Kansas City Chiefs are 4-0 for the season, their all-pro tight end hasn’t hit the heights as the previous years.
Jason has always remained a firm believer in his brother’s skills, even during his recent slump in form. Some have highlighted the 3x Super Bowl winner’s recent involvements outside of football taking a toll on him, which Jason did not deny.

A large part of the reason fans take a lot of interest in the Kelce brothers is because of their massively popular New Heights podcast. Not to mention, Travis Kelce is dating arguably the most famous woman in the world, Taylor Swift. The two storylines intertwined to create a better version of Keeping Up with the Kardashians.
While both are adored by casual fans, football fanatics, on the other hand, highlighted the outside engagement causing distractions for Travis. However, the retired Eagles center shrugged off the theory.
Listen. He’s been very healthy throughout his career. This is a guy who has always found a way to show up in the peak physical shape. I know the optics are that he’s all over the place. And that’s not just optics; that’s reality. But he still keeps the main thing the main thing. Football has always been the most important thing in Travis’ life.

Jason Kelce backs Travis Kelce to bounce back
The 36-year-old further added that Travis has definitely enjoyed the last 12 months of his life, but he has always kept football as his top priority. Kelce showed up to the Chiefs training camp even though he spent time with Swift on a different continent.
He is always gonna find a way to make football his #1 priority in terms of being prepared. There’s so many things that rely between his relationship, teammates, Andy Reid (Chiefs head coach), and his legacy. I know it has been a slow start for him, and I know the optics certainly appear that way… Travis is always gonna find a way to show up and show out.

Perhaps, Jason has a point because now that it’s very much confirmed that Rashee Rice is out for a long time, Travis Kelce becomes Patrick Mahomes’ main man once again.
It showed in the last game when the Chiefs were in LA to play the Chargers. Kelce lodged 7 catches for 89 yards—his best outing of the 2024 season so far.
