Jason Kelce took Tom Brady’s side in the infamous deflate-gate scandal. The retired NFL center claimed that the former New England Patriots quarterback did nothing wrong, rather he outsmarted people.
During the recent episode of his podcast New Heights with brother Travis Kelce, the 36-year-old went off against the NFL for imposing a ban on Tom Brady.
I don't even think Tom should have gotten in trouble for deflating footballs.Jason Kelce said
He followed it up with a declaration claiming that he was ‘pro-deflating football.’
I'm pro deflating footballs. I'll say it, I'll say it, I am pro-deflating footballs. He outsmarted people. Why the f**k does it matter how much air is in that mother***er?Jason Kelce said
The NFL’s All-Time Passing leader served a four-game ban in 2016 for allegedly having a hand in deflating footballs during the AFC Championship game against Indianapolis Colts two years earlier. The New England Patriots won that game with a comfortable 45-7 scoreline, but later Colts players complained that they suspected that the match balls had less pressure than usual.

Jason Kelce called the ball pressure rule ‘stupid’
After showing support for the former quarterback, Kelce switched to attacking the NFL rule, which documents how much pressure a football must have.

The Philadelphia Eagles icon called the rule stupid.
If you're throwing it and catching it who the f**k cares? We're all mad because he had the common sense to [f**king] take a little air out so that his receivers could catch the f**king thing… Why is that against the rules?Jason Kelce said
His brother, the Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, reluctantly nodded in approval.
The NFL Football Operations states that football pressure is measured in pounds per square inch. A matchday football must have pressure in the range of 12.5 PSI to 13.5 PSI.
After investigation, the league committee found that the footballs at the 2014 AFC Championship games had 11 PSI. Although they failed to prove or link Brady with the scandal, he was adjudged to be an accomplice because he was aware of the balls being under-inflated.
The Patriots had to pay a fine of $1 million on top of sanctions on Brady and head coach Bill Belichick. It cost the NFL around $22.5 million to conduct the investigation, per ESPN.
Nowadays Brady is more comfortable talking about the deflate-gate scandal. Recently he even joked at his roast, which drew massive laughter from the fans.
