It has been a couple of months since Jason Kelce announced his retirement from the NFL after 13 seasons with the Philadelphia Eagles. He established himself as one of the most dependable centers during his tenure as a starter and became a vocal leader in the team’s locker room. Despite having walked away from the game, Kelce is not ready to turn his back on the Eagles organization.

Kicker Jake Elliott revealed last week that Jason Kelce continues to show up to the Philadelphia Eagles practice facility on a regular basis.

This gave rise to the speculation that maybe he is contemplating a return after all. However, the future Hall of Famer broke the hearts of fans as he clarified the reason for frequenting the Eagles facility.

Part of it is just getting a free lift down at NovaCare (Complex). I've gotten accustomed to going down there. I love going down there. It keeps me involved with it, whether it's being around the guys, being around the coaches, (keeping) my mind in the game. What teams are doing to try and prepare for this coming season.
On the latest iteration of Takeoff with John Clark: NBC Sports Philadelphia , Jason revealed

It’s hard to abruptly bring in a change in one’s schedule after continually doing the same for 13 years. Besides, Kelce probably gets bored by the thought of sitting at home all day, whereas going to the Eagles facility would mark a pleasant change of scenario for him.

Jason Kelce intends to stay in touch with the game despite officially retiring

By going to the Eagles facility, Kelce is able to keep himself motivated to work out and keep a competitive edge, as he will have plenty of teammates there to push him. Another advantage is that he will get a chance to stay updated regarding the evolution of offensive and defensive strategies in the league.

The game is always evolving and I think in order to stay knowledgeable about it, you have to stay involved. For me…I get to be able to work out and poke my head around a little bit.

This makes it evident that Jason Kelce has no intentions to return to the NFL, despite hinting at the same after the Eagles acquired Saquon Barkley.

As a respected veteran, the team will always keep the doors of its practice facility open to him. He is a valuable asset for the team, as his advice to the next generation of players is key to their success.

Throughout his stay in Philadelphia, Jason Kelce has given back to the city and the community. He has cemented his status as a legend in the region.

The next chapter of his career will be in the capacity of a mentor for the younger players and as a sports analyst with ESPN on the Monday Night Countdown show.

He continues to enjoy retirement and keep fans updated on the latest happenings in his life on the New Heights podcast, which he hosts with brother Travis Kelce.
