Jason Kelce had mixed feelings about Tom Brady getting roasted on Netflix’s ‘The Greatest Roast of All Time’. The retired center concluded that he would rather avoid sitting down and having people roast him.
The seven-time Super Bowl winner agreed to be the subject of ridicule from former team members and celebrity guest comedians. He signed, being completely aware that he had no control over what sort of jokes would be thrown at him.
Even after that, Brady had a couple of awkward moments with roast god Jeff Ross, world-class comedian Nikki Glaser, and Kevin Hart, making fun of his past relationships with Bridget Moynahan and Gisele Bundchen. Kelce revealed that he had fun listening to the jokes, but also concluded that a few went a bit far.
It was pure entertainment... but I just don’t get the roasts [and] I don’t know why people do it. Maybe I take myself too seriously.Jason Kelce said during the recent episode of his ‘New Heights‘ podcast with brother Travis Kelce
Several of Brady’s former New England Patriots teammates—Rob Gronkowski, Drew Bledsoe, Randy Moss, and Julian Edelman—including former head coach Bill Belichick and Patriots owner Robert Kraft, were in attendance.
The entire Patriots dynasty showing up for Tom, [yet] I really don’t fu**king get it. I don’t get why people do roasts. My family’s ruined; it’s so funny; everyone’s laughing; it’s great; we’re having fun, yeah, right!!!Jason Kelce ranted
The 36-year-old wasn’t the only one left with a sour taste in their mouth after the show aired. Brady’s ex-wife and the Brazilian supermodel, Gisele Bundchen, was also ‘disappointed‘ with people making fun of her family.
Jason Kelce would not want his wife to roast him
The six-time All-Pro had a change of heart when he realized that Tom Brady perhaps earned a pretty dime for the show. So after some thinking, he re-considered being roasted. However, he would not invite his wife, Kylie Kelce, as one of the participants.
I’ll do a roast. What’d you guys pay Tom? The one person I wouldn’t allow on the stage is Kylie [Kelce]. She knows too much.Jason Kelce said
They are one of America’s most favorite couples, and fans would love to see her roast Jason. Yet he argued that she does that every single day at home.
Jokes aside, maybe he should be a participant in Stephen A. Smith‘s roast. Shannon Sharpe would definitely throw in some pointers.
