‘Furious’ Jason McIntyre calls out Jerry Jones following reports stating Mike McCarthy is ‘fed up’ with the owner
The Cowboys have failed to sign a big star and retain their key starters in the off-season.

The Dallas Cowboys have for the longest time been known as Jerry Jones’ team because of the owner’s tendency to micromanage the decisions within the organization. He has been known to hire coaches who are not the most outgoing individuals in nature so that when his team succeeds, the credit of their success will be attributed to him.
Mike McCarthy was hired by him for the same reason. He is a Super Bowl-winning coach and is not a man with a large personality. However, it turns out, McCarthy too is getting a bit frustrated with Jerry Jones. Journalist Jason McIntyre addressed a story from Tyler Dunne of GoLong that reveals Mike McCarthy is fed up with Jerry Jones.

McIntyre understands where McCarthy’s frustration stems from. He threw light on the fact that the Cowboys have had only 4 playoff wins in over 2 decades and this is all on Jerry Jones.
They are always the bridesmaid, never the bride…they have four playoff wins this century ladies & gentlemen. And now McCarthy hears his owner Jerry Jones say, ‘We’re all in, we are all in!’ at the beginning of the off-season and the off-season happens, and it crickets.
Jason McIntyre said.
To add to the frustration, Jones didn’t backup his ‘all in’ statement. The Cowboys had barely any positive free agency movement.
They lose a couple offensive linemen, starters, lose Tony Pollard. You look around for all the big moves and it's like one year deal for this guy and one-year deal here. Ezekiel Elliott's coming back as if that's going to excite anyone and all of a sudden, McCarthy is looking around like, 'Why don't you do more and say less, ownership?'Jason McIntyre added.
The Cowboys have had the most underwhelming off-season in the NFL, despite Jones’ claims of making big moves, nothing has come to fruition.
Jerry Jones does not believe the Dallas Cowboys have had a bad off-season
Mike McCarthy has every reason to be frustrated with the owner’s actions. After all, this season will determine his future as the head coach of the Dallas Cowboys and his hands are inevitably being tied as he does not have the same key pieces to use that he did last season. The Cowboys have brought back Ezekiel Elliott, however, he is no longer the same running back he once was.

They lost Tony Pollard, who should have been retained because he posed a significant threat in the backfield. To make the team’s woes worse, Dak Prescott is playing in his final year and is yet to be offered an extension, as is CeeDee Lamb and Micah Parsons. Jerry Jones does not consider the team’s quiet off-season to be a failure- yet all he has done is bring back most players on a one-year deal.

Jason McIntyre gave the example of the Philadelphia Eagles, Detroit Lions, and the Green Bay Packers as teams that have gone all-in this off-season. Each of them managed to bring back their key starters and added more stars to their roster to improve their team. Had Dallas, at the very least managed to retain their existing roster from last season, their off-season could have been considered to be somewhat of a success, however, the team was not able to manage that.
