The Kelce Brothers have finally got what they wanted– a massive deal exceeding the worth of $100 million for their New Heights podcast. Considering the enormous success of the podcast since last year, Jason and Travis Kelce were looking for a mammoth deal around the same number they got.
The NFL star brothers signed a three-year agreement with Amazon’s Wondery for the exclusive distribution and advertising sales rights to the weekly podcast, as reported by Variety. The success of the podcast skyrocketed since Travis started dating the global pop icon, Taylor Swift– to the extent that Edison Research found it to be the fourth-biggest podcast across America for the first quarter of this year, 2024.
Jason and Travis Kelce are kicking off a rich new deal with Amazon’s Wondery, which has exclusive ad-sales and distribution rights to the popular ‘New Heights’ weekly podcast hosted by the famous football brothers. The deal between the Kelce brothers and Wondery, which runs for three years, is worth more than $100 million, according to a source familiar with the pact.Variety reported
Since the Kelce brothers landed the massive deals, fans have gone crazy on social media, astounded by the number offered to New Heights. As one fan exclaimed, “Wow. This is crazy amount of money,” while another fan wrote, “Big win for these dudes. They certainly capitalized on a great thing they’ve built.”
Here are some of the fan reactions:
This agreement is set to begin this month with the NFL regular 2024 season less than two weeks ahead. Wondery believes that releasing a weekly episode with the regular seasons of the NFL, where Swift is also speculated to present for the Kansas City Chiefs games, would lead to a spike in viewership.
Kelce brothers embrace new media opportunities
After gaining a global fan following because of the “Lover” singer, Travis has been broadening his media presence beyond the horizons of his New Heights podcast. And his brother Jason, who retired this year from a 13-year Hall of Fame-worthy career, seems to be embarking on a similar path.
The Chiefs’ star tight end is set for two Hollywood appearances, first in Ryan Murphy’s horror story Grotesquerie on FX and then his cameo in Adam Sandler’s upcoming comedy Happy Gilmore 2. In addition to this, he is also set to host ‘Are You Smarter Than a Celebrity?’ on Amazon Prime.
Meanwhile, his brother and former NFL center is starting his career in broadcasting by joining ESPN’s Monday Night Countdown pregame show. Reporters have always been fans of Jason for his in-depth analysis of various things and are now feeling more excited to see him live on television as a commentator.
