Jauan Jennings‘ recent actions hint that he has perfected the art of annoying his opponents on the field. Usually, Jennings lets his work do the talking, but sometimes he runs his mouth. And the sixth-year player nearly paid the price for his aggressive nature on Sunday when the San Francisco 49ers played the Cleveland Browns.
It all started with the Browns’ defensive tackle Maliek Collins‘ injury after he attempted to sack the 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy. Collins suffered a season-ending quad injury.

While Collins was being loaded up on the gurney by the medical team, Jennings said something that riled up the Browns players, especially DT Shelby Harris. The situation did not escalate, as they had a game to finish, but the bickering and name-calling continued after the final whistle. Speaking with reporters from the Browns locker room, Harris used NSFW language to address Jennings and his actions.
Initially, Harris’ reaction raised eyebrows all across the board. Speculations about what Jennings said to Harris sent social media into a frenzy. NinersNation contributor Jason Aponte provided insight into the entire situation:
Per sources, Jauan Jennings told Cleveland Browns defensive lineman Shelby Harris that he would take his mother out to a nice seafood dinner and never call her again.

Leading sack maker, Myles Garrett, didn’t mince his words when asked to speak on Jennings. He said:
I can’t speak for how he [Jauan Jennings] was raised, but if you’ve got nothing good to say, don’t say something to somebody… He had a lot to say that was demeaning and disparaging towards some of our players. I was just trying to separate everybody. I tried to go up and ask what the problem was, and he started coming at me. I mean, some guys just roll like that.

Kyle Shanahan gave his honest opinion on Jauan Jennings
49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan refrained from addressing the fiasco created by Jennings in the post-game press conference. According to the 49ers Webzone, Shanahan talked about it the next day while chatting with reporters over video.

Shanahan revealed that Collins wasn’t part of the incident. He understands that some players grew a bit restless while waiting for the play to resume.
I don’t know what words were said, but it sounded like he offended some guys with the words. But it was just about words during an injury timeout.
He spoke with Jennings afterwards and listened to his side of the story:
I think Jauan plays to the whistle as well as any player in this league. He is extremely aggressive and plays as hard as he can to the whistle, and he’s been doing that.
Kyle Shanahan says that opponents just get offended by how hard and physically Jauan Jennings plays.

"One thing he's really good at is not breaking any rules."
Jennings has been one of the anchor men in the offence for the Niners. With Brandon Aiyuk still in rehab, Jennings has assumed the role of the WR1, racking up 41 catches for 458 yards and 5 touchdowns from 11 appearances.
The 9-4 Niners enjoy a week off before hosting the Tennessee Titans in week 15. Currently, they are the seventh seed in the NFC and occupy a wildcard spot.
