The San Francisco 49ers might not be getting Brandon Aiyuk back but they are doing their level best to retain their key role players on offense. The team signed wideout Jauan Jennings to a two-year deal earlier during free agency.
As per the terms of his latest contract, Jauan Jennings stands to make $15.4 million, out of which $10.4 million is guaranteed. Earlier yesterday, he gave a shoutout to his quarterback Brock Purdy.
Jauan Jennings posted an image of Purdy on his Instagram story and captioned it with just one emoji. It was that of royalty; he put the crown emoji, acknowledging Purdy as the leader of the team.

Jauan Jennings has proven to be reliable as the third option in the 49ers’ receiver room
In the 2023-24 season, Jennings had 265 yards on 19 receptions for one touchdown. For a former seventh-round pick, he has established himself as a solid role player in the 49ers receiver room. In 45 regular season games, he’s raked up 78 catches for 963 yards and 7 touchdowns.
However, he truly stepped his game up in the Super Bowl against the Chiefs this year. Had the 49ers won the chip, a strong case could have been made for Jennings to win the Super Bowl MVP award. He had four receptions for 42 yards, scored a touchdown, and threw a solid 21-yard touchdown pass to Christian McCaffrey.
As Brandon Aiyuk’s future hangs in the balance with the San Francisco 49ers, the team can make up for his void with the likes of rookie Ricky Pearsall and Jauan Jennings. As far as Brock Purdy is concerned, he looks to have yet another successful season with the team this year. It will be a big year for him as he is due a big payday. The one evident thing is that Purdy is respected and viewed as a leader by the entire offense.
