In Short
  • Jaxon Smith-Njigba expressed willingness to fight any defensive back from the Rams or 49ers in the UFC Octagon.
  • He aims to win a second Super Bowl ring after securing his first with the Seahawks.
  • Smith-Njigba is focused on his NFL career while also engaging in rivalries with players like Deommodore Lenoir.

Earlier this year, Seattle Seahawks wide receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba won his first Super Bowl ring in a win against the New England Patriots. His next goal is securing a second ring. Until that happens, he is happy to take on a Los Angeles Rams or San Francisco 49ers defensive back inside the UFC Octagon.

It’s very common for NFL players to take up martial arts or wrestling as a second career option. But that usually happens after they have retired from pro football. Smith-Njigba is unlikely to retire anytime soon, or at the very least, earn a second ring.

While attending the high-voltage bout between Israel Adesanya and Joe Pyfer at the Seattle Center on Saturday night, the 24-year-old wideout revealed that he will avoid facing teammate Devon Witherspoon. Still, he is ready to accept a challenge from any Rams or 49ers DB.

There’s a couple guys out there. Anyone from the LA Rams or the San Francisco 49ers, I’d happily get in the ring with.

Do Jaxon Smith-Njigba and Deommodore Lenoir hate each other?

Although JSN didn’t mention any names, it seemed like an open call to Deommodore Lenoir. All signs definitely point that way, especially given the history of feuds these two athletes have had both online and in person.

Since they play for teams in the same division, they face each other twice a year. And when that happens, rivalry is bound to brew. For instance, Lenoir posted snapshots from a game where he locked down Smith-Njigba.

Lenoir took a massive dig at JSN right after the Seahawks made him the highest-paid wideout in football. The 26-year-old shared the stats from their three games in 2025, including the NFC Divisional Playoff matchup.

Lenoir may have shut JSN down on all three occasions, but the Pro Bowler had the last laugh. The Seahawks scored 41 points and allowed just 6 from the 49ers to qualify for the Super Bowl, which was scheduled to take place at the Niners’ home ground.

Seattle met the Patriots in the final. Although Smith-Njigba caught just 4 passes for 27 yards, the Seahawks won the fixture 29-13 to secure a second Lombardi Trophy in the history of the franchise.

JSN finished as the receiving yards leader with 1793 on 119 receptions and scored 10 touchdowns in 17 starts. He didn’t have the best playoffs, but he scored a couple of important touchdowns when it mattered.

JSN edged out Niners running back Christian McCaffrey and Ravens RB Derrick Henry to become the Offensive Player of the Year. He also gave a tough fight in the MVP voting, a title that eventually went to the Rams QB Matthew Stafford.

A few days after picking JSN’s fifth-year option, the Seahawks decided to extend his stay for the next four years. On the day when he penned the new deal, Smith-Njigba declared that his only goal is to win more Super Bowls.
