Jaxson Dart has been a revelation for the New York Giants, helping them win 2 out of their last 3 games. The franchise’s fans had hoped that the streak would see them give the Denver Broncos a fight in Mile High City.
That hope was not irrational, nor were they building castles in the air like New York fans usually do. The way they beat the defending champion Philadelphia Eagles in Week 6 proved that the team was coming together.
Against the Broncos, Dart threw two touchdown passes and set up a third for running back Tyrone Tracy Jr. to finish the third quarter with a commanding 19-0 lead. That score proved that the defense did a terrific job stopping Bo Nix and the Broncos’ offense.
Then, when the home team came back to score in the opening minutes of the 4th quarter, Dart threw his third TD of the night to give them an 18-point cushion.
The home team scored another, but was still 10 points behind the Giants. With less than 5 minutes to go, Jaxson Dart committed his 1st rookie mistake of the season.
Facing pressure and without his legs underneath him to give him the power to launch the ball, he threw it straight towards Broncos linebacker Justin Strnad, which ultimately helped his team score another touchdown.

The Giants QB did make amends with a brilliant rushing TD. On the final drive, with time expiring, the Broncos scored a field goal to win the game 33-32. That field goal saw Jaxson Dart sink to his knees, knowing how his interception cost them the game.
Broncos create NFL history against Jaxson Dart and the Giants
The New York Giants had this game in their bag with 6 minutes to go. They were up by 18 points when the Denver Broncos were marching down the field into their side.
Their Giants defense, which had shut down the home team in the first 3 quarters, might have thought it was ‘okay’ for their opponents to score one touchdown to begin the 4th quarter.
That might have led to some complacency, as they still held that 18-point lead with less than 6 minutes to go. A couple of Bo Nix rushing touchdowns flanked by a passing TD, sending the Broncos into the lead for the first time.
Now, all the Giants’ defense had to do was stop their opponents from getting to a scoring position. That did not happen after Nix connected on two 20+ yard throws to give his field goal unit good kicking position.

Will Lutz calmly drilled the ball down the middle to score and help the home team win. With that score, the home team became the first to score 33 points in the 4th quarter after being held scoreless in the first 3 quarters.
NFL teams had won 1,602 straight games when leading by 18+ points in the final six minutes.

The Denver Broncos also set an NFL record after snapping the 1602 consecutive losses run of teams who were down 18+ points in the final 6 minutes of the game.
Bo Nix calls out Broncos fans who left early
If that 4th quarter performance was the best the Denver Broncos had ever produced, it was one that some of their fans at Empower Field at Mile High did not get to see. Quarterback Bo Nix talked about it after the game.

I felt bad for the people who left early.

The 25-year-old then praised his teammates for not giving up despite being down in morale after their scoreless first three quarters. Nix believes his team has proved that they are not going to quit under any circumstances.
