The New York Giants were once again the bottom feeders, finishing last in the NFC East with just four wins. That said, the Big Blue have reasons to be joyful despite the paltry record. Rookie quarterback Jaxson Dart and running back Cam Skattebo has revitalized the energy in the MetLife Stadium. They got the fans bouncing in glee and cheering ferociously through the wins, and especially when the scorebug didn’t favor them.
With Dart and Skattebo, there’s a renewed hope, and John Harbaugh’s arrival has boosted that. Harbaugh, despite his controversial opinions, is considered one of the top coaches in the league, with several winning seasons with the Baltimore Ravens. It was under him that they went on to win their title in 2008. Dart, himself, has predicted a whole shift in the Giants’ fortunes coming season.
In an interview with ESPN’s Jordan Raanan amid a family vacation, Dart claimed that the team was very excited to learn that they would be coached by him in the coming season. He added that he expects a whole lot of winning under Harbaugh.
He heaped praise on the incoming head coach while addressing his role in the new coach selection. The 22-year-old Utah native mentioned that while he was consulted, he was only a rookie. However, he told Raanan that he would pick Harbaugh’s name if he were asked for a choice.
Dart didn’t forget to heap praises on Harbaugh. He said he admired his style, dedication, and track record. He also emphasised his eagerness to play under him.
The winning culture, the intensity, and then just the enthusiasm and love about football, that’s what he carries and brings to the team. So, just can’t wait to get started and get rolling with him.
The pair has met since Harbaugh was introduced as the new head coach on Tuesday. According to one source, the pair’s face-to-face meeting lasted over two hours and had to be broken up. The coach had previously noted that he was excited to work with Dart.
John Harbaugh set to reshape Giants offense amid wider coaching reset
The New York Giants are undergoing a major coaching overhaul. Sources indicated that only two members of the current staff are expected to remain following a complete restructuring of the coaching department.

The New York Post reported that only Charlie Bullen, outside linebackers coach, and Tim Kelly, tight ends coach, will be included in John Harbaugh’s first Giants staff. The staff purge is not an unusual scenario when a new head coach steps up, though it will mean adios to Carmen Bricillo. In terms of the offensive coordinator, Todd Monken has been a popular name floating around.
Even before Harbaugh had joined the Giants, Monken was predicted to follow him wherever he might land. The coaching philosophy under Harbaugh is an oversight with specific units led by respective coordinators. Monken, being a trusted left hand of the 63-year-old, was considered as virtual lock for the position by Jeremy Fowler and Ben Solak in their detailed feature of the remaining coordinator position overview.
However, Monken has also been linked as a potential head coach for the Cleveland Browns. If not Monken, Fowler floated the name of Willie Taggart, making his way to New York. Taggart served as the assistant head coach as well as the running backs coach in Baltimore.
However, reports indicated that the Giants had only interviewed him to fulfill the criteria of the Rooney Rule. The Athletic’s Ian O’Connor reported that Taggart might join the Giants in a similar capacity. In terms of the defensive structure, Anthony Weaver (Miami Dolphins), Dennard Wilson (Tennessee Titans), and Jim Leonhard (Denver Broncos) are considered strong options.
