Jayden Daniels’ fantasy managers may have to take a rain check on the rookie quarterback’s situation as he walked off the field in the first quarter of week 7 Sunday game. Daniels was uncomfortably holding his rib cage while heading toward the medical tent.
While there’s evidence scattered throughout the first quarter of Daniels’ discomfort, it most likely started right after a bad tumble early on.
In the very next play after Dante Fowler’s 67-yard interception return of Andy Dalton’s attempted pass, Daniels went on one of his trademark runs, splitting the Panthers’ defense again. He was brought down by the collective efforts of corner Lonnie Johnson Jr., who initially impeded his run, and then defensive end Marquis Haynes Sr. dragged Daniels down to the ground.

Instead of going down, Daniels took a tumble on Haynes’ body, and his reaction was to hold his midsection before fixing his helmet, not the other way around. The 23-year-old clearly knew something wasn’t right.

The pain finally became too much for Daniels, as after the following snap he went down in pain as the Commanders’ medical team rushed to check on him. After the preliminary treatment, they decided it was best for him to come off.

After a visit to the medical tent, CBS’ sideline reporter Evan Washburn revealed that Jayden Daniels will no longer play the game after suffering an injury to his left rib.
Veteran quarterback Marcus Mariota replaced Daniels for only his second season appearance.
Jayden Daniels’ mom shared positive news about her son
Even though Daniels was out, the production did not take a hit for Washington. Mariota threw a couple of touchdown passes to tight ends Zach Ertz and Ben Sinnott. Dan Quinn’s side took a 34-0 lead when fans noticed a post by Daniels’ mother.
Regina Daniels shared a short, two-word message, which most likely calmed down the nerves of the Commanders fandom.

In the meantime, the Panthers reduced the lead to 30 points after Chuba Hubbard scored his second touchdown of the season. The Commanders added three additional points through a 29-yard field goal from Austin Seibert as the game ended 40-7, securing their fifth win in seven games.

Quinn refrained from making any comments about Daniels’ injury, as he wanted to assess the situation first.
Daniels finished the game as 2 for 2 and 6 yards while carrying the ball 3 times for 50 yards before his injury. Mariota completed 18 of 23 for 205 yards, 2 touchdowns, and a quarterback rating of 142.64. They will welcome the Bears next week.
