Drake Maye experienced a lot of firsts in his life in the last eighteen months- he played in his first game for the New England Patriots, threw his first touchdown, and won his first NFL game. He did not waste much time living another special moment by proposing to his longtime girlfriend, Ann Michael Hudson.
On Wednesday, the 22-year-old shared a couple of photos on Instagram. Draped in all whites and the sea as the backdrop, Maye went down on one knee and put a ring on Hudson’s finger to make it official.
Friends always make every occasion special and Maye appears to have a ton. Family members and several of his former high school classmates dropped by his Instagram profile to congratulate him on the joyous moment. Even his draft mates did not miss the opportunity to congratulate the blessed couple.
Caleb Williams, Jayden Daniels, JJ McCarthy, and Joe Milton III entered the NFL through the 2024 draft. Most view them as rivals, especially Milton, who is a backup in New England, but at the same time, they seem to be good friends after business hours.
Even more congratulatory messages popped up in the comment section. Patriots wide receiver Kendrick Bourne, tight end Hunter Henry, cornerback Miles Battle, and former Patriots and current Cleveland Browns quarterback Bailey Zappe wished a happy life for the newly engaged couple.
Maye’s former North Carolina teammates weren’t far behind either. Ex-NC State and current Baltimore Ravens wide receiver Tez Walker and superstar Tarheels tight end Bryson Nesbit seemed overjoyed with the announcement.
Who is Drake Maye’s girlfriend Ann Michael Hudson?
Ann Michael Hudson was born into a football family. Her father Kevin Hudson, played ball for Wofford College football. She and Drake Maye attended Huntersville High School together and later went to North Carolina University where Maye was the star quarterback.
Hudson attended the Kenan-Flagler Business School with a double minor in entrepreneurship and conflict management. According to her LinkedIn account, she applied her trade as a strategy consultant intern at Piedmont Pennies and landed a role as a summer scholar at Deloitte in 2024. 21-year-old Hudson also captained the varsity softball, field hockey, and cheerleading teams.
The pair further share another connection. Hudson’s brother Tad was one of the backup quarterbacks for Maye at NC State. Tad later transferred to Coastal Carolina in 2024.
Maye and Hudson made their relationship official on Instagram in 2020 and she has been a massive support in his rise to NFL fame.
It’s only the beginning of their life together, and through her support, Maye might even walk on the same path as his predecessor, Tom Brady. In his first season at Foxborough, the 22-year-old Maye played 13 games, threw 225 completions for 2276 yards (66.6% completion) for 15 touchdowns and 10 interceptions, along with 54 carries for 421 yards and 2 rushing touchdowns.
