The 2024 Draft class has yielded great quarterbacks like Caleb Williams, Jayden Daniels, Bo Nix, and Drake Maye. While they all bring unique aspects to the table, rookies Jayden Daniels and Bo Nix have truly stood out and are in contention to win the Offensive Rookie of the Year honors. It is a close race between the two.
Each of them has had an immediate impact on their respective franchises, with Jayden Daniels and Bo Nix leading the Commanders and the Broncos, respectively, to a 7-5 record so far. NFL Hall of Famer and ESPN analyst Shannon Sharpe made his pick for the OROTY on First Take earlier today.
Despite the argument for Jayden Daniels being stronger as betting sites have him at the top spot, Sharpe believes Nix is likely to win the award.
The former tight end of the Broncos believes the 12th overall pick of the 2024 draft has played better than Jayden Daniels in recent weeks.
Jayden Daniels and Bo Nix are in a heated battle to win Offensive Rookie of The Year
However, Daniels continues to get more coverage compared to Nix, but that is because he has found himself in situations where he has made highlight-worthy plays. Be it the Hail Mary touchdown against the Chicago Bears or the 86-yard touchdown to Terry McLaurin during Sunday night’s game in Week 12, the Commanders’ quarterback has made some great plays.
However, this should not take away from what Nix has been able to accomplish. He has 2,548 yards for 16 touchdowns and 6 interceptions so far with a passer rating of 89.9. Nix’s game has been consistent lately despite his struggles early on in the season and he is not as flashy as Jayden Daniels, but he certainly gets the job done.

Sharpe made it clear that he is not allowing his past affiliation and fondness for the Broncos’ organization to cloud his judgment.
The legendary tight end is vouching for Nix, but he acknowledged that it is a close race between the two.
As per FanDuel Sportsbook, Daniels has the best odds to win the award with -180 but Bo Nix, whose odds to win were +1400 two weeks ago, now has +150 odds of winning. The winner is likely to be decided by the ultimate record of these teams at the end of the season.
