Jayden Daniels has been the rookie sensation at the quarterback position the league needed. Steering the Washington Commanders to the playoffs and then winning the Wild Card round has fans in awe. During his debut season, one of the few players that got the better of him was Micah Parsons.

Jayden Daniels lost five games in his debut season. Three of those were in the middle of the season. Against the Pittsburgh Steelers, his team’s inexperience showed. Then the loss to the Philadelphia Eagles had no particular reason as they are a formidable team.

The third one was against Micah Parsons and the Dallas Cowboys team who were playing without Dak Prescott. That loss pushed the Washington Commanders to make some changes and then they went on a five-game winning streak to enter the postseason.

The former LSU star was sacked 47 times all season. Four of those came from Micah Parsons. When the Cowboys pass rusher was on Inside the NFL, host Ryan Clark asked him why he believes the rookie QB is built for the bright lights.

In every moment, it just seems like he’s never fazed. When I see that, I can’t go against a guy like that. We’ve only seen two guys in the league that’s not fazed like that when it matters the most and that’s Patrick Mahomes and Tom Brady.

Micah Parsons said

The three-time All-Pro added that Daniels stays calm and focuses on driving his team forward. When needed, he fearlessly scrambles for extra yards, taking hits without hesitation. All of that has Parsons believing the rookie QB is as good as Patrick Mahomes and Tom Brady.

Jayden Daniels to face a formidable Detroit Lions in Divisional round

A Jayden Daniels drive down the field and the subsequent Zane Gonzalez doinked field goal saw them win their first playoff game in nearly two decades. Now the Washington Commanders will fly to Michigan to face the Detroit Lions.

The team knows all too well that when they step on to Ford Field, they will face two teams. One is a team that was the best in the league for much of the season. The other will be Detroit fans who have waited far too long for their team to be legitimate contenders.

If going by what Micah Parsons said, all that won’t affect the rookie quarterback. However, he will still need to play at an elite level if his team has to go toe-to-toe with the Lions. He would also need his teammates to be at the top of their game.

The Detroit Lions are formidable on offense and will likely have David Montgomery back from injury. That means, Sonic and Knuckles will team up to give the Commanders defense a headache. HC Dan Quinn has to prepare his players to give their best.
