Jayden Daniels created history by securing a monumental 45-31 win against the Detroit Lions in the NFC Divisional round playoff game on Saturday night. The result saw the Commanders qualify for the NFC Championship game for the first time since 1991.
Daniels listened to Cam Newton’s words and kept his feet on the ground after defeating the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the wild-card round. Against the Lions’ defense, which allowed the third-fewest touchdowns all year and possessed the best third-down offense, Daniels completed 299 yards and two touchdowns.
The 24-year-old threw one touchdown each to wide receiver Terry McLaurin and tight end Zach Ertz. Additionally, he set up running backs Brian Robinson Jr. and Jeremy McNichols for a couple of fourth-quarter rushing touchdowns.

Fans compare Jayden Daniels with NBA legend Kobe Bryant
Daniels grew up idolizing the late Kobe Bryant of the Los Angeles Lakers and often watched motivational videos and interviews.
Daniels lives by these words, and it showed up in the Lions game. The 2023 Heisman Trophy winner equaled ex-Jets quarterback Mark Sanchez’s record of four passing touchdowns in the rookie playoff run and is marginally behind in the most passing yards category, which he can easily break in the NFC Championship game.
